Unfortunately, there is currently no way to filter out these notifications. If you do not want to see notifications from a certain application, just uncheck the box next to the application's name on the right side of the "Notifications" tab. You will not receive any more notifications from that application unless you check the box again.

If you believe that a third-party application is misusing the Notifications feature, you can report the application for abuse by going to the application’s About page and clicking "Report Application" at the bottom of the page, or by clicking "Report" at the bottom of any canvas page within the application. Be sure to give a detailed, accurate description of the problem and include links (URLs) to the relevant pages. We also recommend that you check the "I would like a copy of this report to be sent to the developer of the application" box to bring this matter to the attention of the developer.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Facebook is not responsible for the support provided by this developer. However, Facebook works to ensure that all third-party developers are following our Terms of Service. Please report this application by going to the application’s About page and clicking "Report Application" at the bottom of the page, or by clicking "Report" at the bottom of any canvas page within the application.

Be sure to give a detailed, accurate description of the problem and include links (URLs) to the relevant pages. We will then investigate your report and take appropriate action based on our Platform Developer Terms of Service. We also recommend that you check the "I would like a copy of this report to be sent to the developer of the application" box to bring this matter to the attention of the developer.

Please remember that applications on Facebook Platform are maintained by third-party developers, and they can link to content outside of Facebook. We recommend that you keep your anti-virus software up to date and run its virus removal feature if you suspect your computer has been infected. Keep in mind that you can always remove and/or restrict applications from the "Applications" section of the Privacy page.

Unfortunately, blocking someone on Facebook does not extend to elsewhere on the Internet and may not prevent all interactions in applications not built by Facebook. You may want to check with the developer to see if this application has its own blocking feature.

To prevent further harassment from a user in an application not built by Facebook, we recommend that you remove the application and block it, if necessary. To remove an application's association with your account, take the following steps:
  1. Select the "Edit Applications" link from the Applications menu in the bottom left corner of any Facebook page.
  2. On the following page, click the "X" next to the application you want to remove.
  3. In the window that appears, click "Remove" to confirm the removal of that application from your profile, bookmarks, and the Edit Applications page.
If you want to block an application, go to the Application Directory and find the application you wish to block. Once found, click on the picture for the application to see its About page. On the About page you will have the option to "Block this Application" on the right side of the screen.

If a preview is not displaying correctly for your URL, you may need to contact the webmaster of the site you are trying to share to check whether it meets Facebook's requirements.

In order to generate a Share preview successfully, a website must include the following three meta tags in its source HTML:

<meta name="title" content="Article headline here" />
<meta name="description" content="Article summary here" />
<link rel="image_src" href="http://www.example.com" />

Please make sure that this site includes these tags in the section of its HTML. Also, note that these tags are case-sensitive and URLs must be absolute. For more information, click the "How do I make sure the Share Preview works?" link at the bottom of http://www.facebook.com/share_partners.php.

If you have determined that this site includes all of the necessary metatags but it is still not generating the correct preview, please submit a report here.

Facebook Ads for Pages and Events

Facebook Ads for Pages and Events allow users to engage with your ads ...
Facebook Ads for Pages and Events allow users to engage with your ads the same way they interact with other content on Facebook – without leaving the page they are viewing. Ads for Pages include a "Become a fan" link, while ads for Facebook Events include an "RSVP" link. Users who view these ads can connect with your Pages and Events from the ad itself, automatically creating a story on the user’s profile page and possibly even their friends’ home page Highlights, generating free distribution for you.

You can choose to include a "Become a Fan" link when you create a Facebook Ad for a Page. This will allow users to connect with your Page directly from the ad, without interrupting their Facebook experience. They'll still be able to click on your ad and view the Page directly as well. To set up ads with a "Become a fan" link, click "Promote Page with an Ad" when viewing any Page you manage, and this option will be automatically added to the ad creative. Alternatively, you can create ads with this fan link when you choose to advertise your Page through the normal ad creation page.

If you'd like to advertise an Event you've created on Facebook, you can now also choose to let users RSVP directly from the ad. To do so, simply choose to advertise your Event from the Event page itself, or from the ad creation page as above.

You can share your application’s URL with your friends, who can then use the application. When your application has at least ten monthly active users, you can submit it for approval into the Application Directory. Please keep in mind that a monthly active user (MAU) is an individual who has interacted with the app during 30 days. If a user authorized your app more than 30 days ago but hasn’t interacted with it since, you will see them listed as a user but this does not affect your MAU total.
Once a user has authorized an application or connected with a website,...
Once a user has authorized an application or connected with a website, they can add a Profile Box or Profile Tab to their profile. But to do this, your application must provide support for profile boxes and/or profile tabs.

Profile Boxes can appear on either the left-hand side of the wall/info tabs on a user profile, or within the Boxes tab. Users can add these from within your application or website via the fb:add-section-button FBML tag. Your application must first set the profile calling the method profile.setFBML. This method is also used to update the profile box for the user. See http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Fb:add-section-button and http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Profile.setFBML

Profile Tabs are manually added by the user to their profile via the "+" shown when the user is viewing their profile. This list will only show tabs for applications that the user has authorized. You must specify a URL for the application tab in the developer app for it to appear in this list. A tab is basically a full page that displays content from your application for the user to share with their friends on their profile. Every Facebook Page or application profile that has more than 1,000 fans as of May 31, 2009, can get one username-specific URL associated with the page. If there are multiple administrators of a Page, the first username selected by any one of the administrators will be associated with the page. If you're an administrator, you can get more details here.

For your application profile, we recommend you choose a username that closely matches the name of your application. For a Facebook Page you maintain to promote your development company, you might choose your company name as your username.

Security: Account was hacked or "phished"

We are currently working with people whose accounts have been affected by money transfer scams

The money transfer scam is characterized by cybercriminals using Facebook in an attempt to trick your friends into sending them money. Most frequently, these criminals will gain control of a Facebook account, and use the Chat or Status features to claim that you are stuck in a far away location and in need of financial assistance.

It is possible that your email account was compromised as well, as obtaining access to a victim’s email is one of the primary ways these cybercriminals have been operating. Please take the following steps to ensure the security of your Facebook account:
  1. Select a unique and complex password for your Facebook account and keep this entirely to yourself. You can do this from the Account Settings page of your Facebook account or by using the "Forgot Password" link on the login page.

  2. Select a new, unique password for any email address associated with your account, making sure to avoid using the same password for any account.

  3. Verify that you control all of the email addresses associated with your account on the Contact Email section at:

  4. https://www.facebook.com/editaccount.php

  5. Add a security question to your account from the Account Settings page if you have not done so already.

  6. Visit the following page for more information about Facebook security and how to report suspicious material:

If you require further assistance in securing your account, please enter your account information in this form so that we can make sure your account is secure.

It is possible that malicious software was downloaded to your computer or that your password was stolen by a phishing website designed to look like Facebook. Please carefully follow the steps provided:
  1. Run anti-virus software: If your computer has been infected with a virus or with malware, you will need to run anti-virus software to remove these harmful programs and keep your information secure.

  2. Reset password: From the Account Setting page, you will need to create a new password. Be sure to use a different password than you use for other sites or services, made up of a complex string of numbers, letters, and punctuation marks that is at least six characters in length. Do not use words found in the dictionary.

  3. Never click suspicious links: It is possible that your friends could unwillingly send spam, viruses, or malware through Facebook if their accounts are infected. Do not click this material and do not run any ".exe" files on your computer without knowing what they are. Also, be sure to use the most current version of your browser as they contain important security warnings and protection features. Current versions of Firefox and Internet Explorer warn you if you have navigated to a suspected phishing site, and we recommend that you upgrade your browser to the most current version. You can also find more information about phishing and how to avoid it at http://www.antiphishing.org/consumer_recs.html and http://onguardonline.gov/phishing.html.

Phishing is an online attempt to trick a user by pretending to be an official login page or an official email from an organization that you would have an account with, such as a bank or an email provider, in order to obtain a user’s login and account information. In the case of a phishing login page, the login page may look identical to the login page you would normally go to, but the website does not belong to the organization you have an account with (the URL web address of the website should reflect this). In the case of a phishing email, the email may look like an email you would get from the organization you have an account with and get emails from, but the link in the email that it directs you to takes you to the above phishing login page, rather than a legitimate login page for that organization.

To prevent your account information from being obtained in a phishing scheme, only log in to legitimate pages of the websites you have an account with. For example, "www.facebook.example.com" is not a legitimate Facebook page on the "www.facebook.com" domain, but "www.facebook.com/example" is a legitimate Facebook page because it has the "facebook.com" domain. When in doubt, you can always just type in "facebook.com" into your browser to return to the legitimate Facebook site.
If you are still unable to access your profile, please send us more information regarding the issue so we can investigate. Please submit your report here.

If your account has been hacked and the login email on your account has also been compromised or has been changed, please send us information about the account so we can look into it further and hopefully restore access. Please submit your report here.

Please note that is not technically possible to hack a Facebook group. As long as the current administrators of a group keep their login details secure, keep their account enabled, and do not allow any suspicious people to become admins, then the group will remain secure. Please note, however, that if a group is left without an admin, any member will be able to assume that role. If this situation occurs, we encourage you or the former admin of this group to contact the current admin to resolve this matter. Unfortunately, Facebook is not able to add you back as an admin for any group.

In addition, as long as the group does not contain information that violates our Terms of Use, we will not take any action it. For more information on conduct prohibited by Facebook, please read ourStatement of Rights and Responsibilities, which can be accessed by clicking on the "Terms" link at the bottom of any Facebook page.

Make sure that when you access the site, you always log in from a legitimate facebook.com domain. A good rule of thumb is if a URL ends in facebook.com, it is owned by Facebook. For example, "en-gb.facebook.com" ends in facebook.com and is therefore safe and legitimate.

When in doubt, just type "facebook.com" into your browser's address field. It's a good idea to bookmark the facebook.com address so that you don't have to enter it manually.

Other URLs that look like Facebook but do not follow this criterion could be illegitimate phishing websites. Never submit your login credentials to a site that looks suspicious.

Facebook has enabled third-party websites to use Facebook’s login and authentication system through a program called Facebook Connect. Facebook Connect allows users to take their Facebook identity, network, and privacy settings with them as they browse and interact with the rest of the Web.

Connect-enabled sites often provide an option to log in to Facebook directly from the site itself. When you see this, you should make sure that the login opens in a separate browser pop-up window, and that the Web address (URL) for the pop-up contains the proper "www.facebook.com" domain. If it does, you’ll know that it’s a legitimate Facebook page and not a phishing attempt, and you can log in safely and securely.

Note: if you’re logged in to Facebook, the Facebook Connect partner site should only ask you to "authorize" that site.

You can control who is allowed to see specific elements of your profile from your Privacy Settings page, which you can access by selecting the "Settings" link at the top of every Facebook page.

Keep in mind that your Wall does not allow anyone to see any actions or content that they normally wouldn't be allowed to see. For example, if you post a photo that is only visible to friends, non-friends will not see a story about that photo post when they view your Wall.

To remove a particular Wall story:
  1. Hover your mouse over the right corner of the Wall story
  2. Click the "Remove" button
To prevent certain types of stories from being published about you:

The Atom feed or RSS feed of your friends' notes, statuses, or links or an individual user's notes, statuses, or links contains that content only, whereas News Feed contains stories about photo postings, relationship changes, etc. Also, your News Feed won't show a story every time one of your friends posts a note to Facebook; your News Feed only contains the stories we think you'll be the most interested in. The RSS or Atom feeds of a user's notes or your friends' notes, for example will contain every note posted. And finally, even though most web browsers display Atom or RSS feeds readably, you'll typically want to use a news aggregator to keep track of them.

When you select "Send To All," everyone who was originally messaged will see your response. When you reply to a specific person, only he or she will see your response.

The impact of this on your Inbox is that all the "Send To All" messages will be kept in a single thread, and any individual conversations that you start from within that thread will create a new thread entirely. For example, if you select "Send To All" for a message originally sent to you and Amy from Paul, both Amy and Paul will see your reply. Photo album privacy differs from the Photos profile privacy setting on the Application Settings page. The latter setting only controls who can see the Photos tab or box on your profile.

To edit your photo album privacy, just go to the Photos tab at the top of your profile. On this tab, select the "Album Privacy" link in the photo albums section, edit the setting for each album, and click "Save Settings." You can also adjust the album privacy setting every time you create a new album.

Keep in mind that some people may be able to see your albums even when they cannot view them on your profile if your album privacy settings are open. These less restrictive settings include "Everyone," "All of My Networks," "Some of My Networks" and "Friends of Friends." Please note that the "Everyone" privacy setting allows anyone on Facebook to view the album if they are linked to it.

For example, if you subscribe to the feed of your friends' Notes, you can easily find out when one of your friends writes a new note.

A news aggregator lets you keep track of all the feeds you care about. Our current favorite is Bloglines, a web-based application that requires no installation. If you follow the link to a feed in most web browsers, you'll find that you can easily subscribe to the feed. Whenever your friends' write new notes, Bloglines will let you know.

Each person that can see your notes on Facebook is given a different RSS or Atom feed web address (URL) that is unique for them. Atom and RSS feeds from Facebook include the Bloglines Feed Access Control extension , and we set the access parameter to "deny" for all of our feeds. We also indicate in our robots.txt that feeds should not be visited or indexed by bots. The major aggregators and search engines (Bloglines, Technorati, Google, Yahoo!) all appear to respect these directives. If you are very concerned about the possibility of someone seeing your Notes that you don't want him or her to see, we've added a privacy option that you can set on your Notes privacy page which will prevent any of your Notes from being syndicated in any RSS or Atom feed.

Profile Tabs are manually added by the user to their profile via the ""+"" shown when the user is viewing their profile. This list will only show tabs for applications that the user has authorized. You must specify a URL for the application tab in the developer app for it to appear in this list. A tab is basically a full page that displays content from your application for the user to share with their friends on their profile. For more details, see here: http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/New_Design_Tabbed_Profile

  1. Never click suspicious links: It is possible that your friends could unwillingly send spam, viruses, or malware through Facebook if their accounts are infected. Do not click this material and do not run any ".exe" files on your computer without knowing what they are.

  2. Have a unique, strong password: From the Account Settings page, be sure to use a different password than you use for other sites or services, made up of a complex string of numbers, letters, and punctuation marks that is at least six characters in length. Do not use words found in the dictionary.

  3. Run anti-virus software: If your computer has been infected with a virus or with malware, you will need to run anti-virus software to remove harmful programs and keep your information secure.

If the photo does not exist on the internet, upload the photo to one of your Facebook albums. Then, click the "Share" link below the photo to send a link and preview of the photo to your friend. For instructions on how to upload, please see the answer above.

The Publisher lets you share content on Facebook. It is located at the top of both your home page and your Profile page. Both locations offer the same functionalities.

Typing in the Publisher text box and clicking "Share" updates your status. Clicking inside the text box displays additional types of content that you can share:
  • Link (add a web address to external content)
  • Photos (upload a photo, create an album, or take a webcam photo)
  • Video (upload a video or record a webcam video)
  • Note (add from Facebook’s Notes application)
  • Import (add external blogs or RSS feeds)
  • Gifts (add from Facebook’s Gift Shop)
Once you have added content, you will still need to click "Share" in order to publish a story. To exit the submenu for a specific type of content, simply click the "X" in the upper-right corner of the Publisher box.

If you type in the Publisher box and then add content (e.g., a link or a video), the text will appear as a comment above the content you have shared. It will not appear as a new status update or replace your current status.

Now you can tag your friends and other things you’re connected to in your Facebook status and other posts. This feature works with the Publisher box that appears on your home page and profile page.
  1. Type the "@" symbol in the Publisher text field, either to start the post or as a new word with a space before it.
  2. Directly after the "@" symbol, type any part of the name you would like to tag. A new drop-down menu will appear with all matching entries. You can tag friends, Pages, groups, events and applications.
  3. Click the name you would like to tag. It will appear as a blue link in your post. You can tag multiple different names in the same post.
People who can see your post will be able to click through to view the profile, Page, group or event you tag, but only if the existing privacy settings permit this.

Tagging allows you to more actively mention your friends and other things you are connected to on Facebook. It also lets you direct a post at specific people while still keeping the conversation open. Friends you tag will receive a notification and Wall story that you have tagged them, and also when someone else comments on a post they are tagged in.

  • Your confirmed friends
  • Pages you are a fan of
  • Events you are attending
  • Your groups

To tag any of these things, enter the "@" symbol followed by the name.

Groups will show a group icon next to their name in the drop-down menu, and events will show a calendar icon. Pages will show the Page photo, and profiles will show the profile photo.

When you tag an application, the link in your post will lead to the application’s Page. You can only tag applications that you have used.

Search: Public search listings on internet search

When someone who is not a Facebook user searches for your profile outs...
When someone who is not a Facebook user searches for your profile outside of Facebook, they will see your public search listing. Your public search listing contains the same information as your regular search listing within the site - your name and profile picture thumbnail. The listing will also contain your friends' thumbnails if available, as well as your username URL if you have created a username. Your public search listing will only be available if you allow "Everyone" to search for you and have the "Create a public search listing for me and submit it for search engine indexing" box checked. You can adjust these settings from the Search section of the Privacy page.

Also note that people who do not yet use Facebook will not be able to interact with you or view your full information without registering for the site. Your public search listing will not affect any of your normal Search privacy settings. A non-Facebook user viewing your result would see the same search result if they registered with the site.

Your public search listing will also appear in search engine indexes if this box is checked, making it even easier for your friends to connect with you. By more efficiently connecting people, we hope that we can make your experience more meaningful on the site.

If you are logged in to Facebook and take an action on an affiliated site, the website will alert you that it has a story it would like to send to your Facebook profile. You can then choose to take the following actions:

  1. You can click the ‘Learn More’ link to find out more about that story or edit your privacy settings for these external stories.
  2. You can click the ‘This isn’t me’ link if the Facebook account does not match the person using the external site. In this case, Facebook will never publish the story or otherwise share any information with the user’s friends on Facebook.
  3. You can click ‘No Thanks’ in which case Facebook will never publish that story or otherwise share any information with your friends on Facebook.
  4. You can click 'Close' or simply ignore the notification in which case the story will be sent to Facebook, but will not be published on the site. Next time you navigate to the Facebook Home page after interacting with an affiliate site, you’ll receive a second reminder that the affiliate website would like to publish a story on your behalf. There are three things you can do with this story—approve the story by clicking Okay, remove the story by clicking "Remove", or ignore the entire message by doing nothing. If you approve the story and click "Okay", the story will be published in your Mini-Feed and may appear in your friends' News Feeds. When you send a friend request to a person, public stories about them (stories that have the privacy set to "Everyone") may appear in your News Feed. This way you don’t have wait for them to respond to your friend request to see their public updates. Please note that News Feed will never show stories that a non-friend wouldn’t ordinarily be able to see. People who have yet to accept your friend requests will also appear on the Friends page. Here, you can add them to Friend Lists.

If you don’t want to see stories from a person who has yet to accept your friend requests, you can hide them from your News Feed by placing your cursor to the right of a story about them and clicking the "Hide" link that appears. Alternatively, you can remove them as a friend by clicking the "X" next to their name on the Friends page.

You create a hash of email addresses for users on your site and send it to Facebook. Facebook compares your hash to a hash of all their user's email addresses and looks for matches. It does this comparison for every email address listed in each user's Contact Info on Facebook.

Initially, only Facebook knows that Jane Smith on your site is the same Jane Smith who's on Facebook. Your site will know they're the same person once she accepts the Connect request. This protects her accounts from being linked without her knowledge.

What type of network are you trying to add?

A work network:
Please note that if your company does not distribute official email addresses to employees, we will be unable to create a workplace network for you.

If you have a work email address that has the company domain, please click this link.

If you’re not receiving the confirmation email, please check your email application's spam or junk folder or filter.
A college network:
In order to join one of our college networks, you need to have a valid email address from one of the schools we support. This email account needs to be set up to send or receive external emails. To accommodate alumni, we accept school affiliated alumni email addresses, which are available at many schools (often for free) through their school or alumni association.

If your school does not provide you with an email address, you will not be able to join that network at this time.

If you have an email address from your school, but aren’t able to receive the confirmation email, please check your spam and junk-related folders and filters.

If you’re still unable to add a college network, please click here.

If you cannot add your college or university because it is not supported, please click on this link.
A high school network:
If you do not have an option to add a high school network to your account, then you may be ineligible to register with a high school at this time. If you currently attend high school and are between the ages of 13 and 18 but have not provided this information accurately, please use the link at the bottom to contact us – we’ll then be able to update your account. If you are over the age of 18, you will need to add your high school information to the Education section of your Profile, as you are no longer eligible to add a high school network. Note that people will still be able to find you in a Classmates Search.

If you are unable to add your high school network because you have recently switched high school networks, you may need to wait until the block expires before adding a new high school. If you are registered in a high school that you do not currently attend, please use the form below to contact us – we’ll then be able to update your account.

If you are unable to add your high school network because we do not support your high school, we can help to add the network to Facebook. Please click here to contact us with your high school information.

If you deactivate your account from the "Deactivate Account" section on the Account page, your profile and all information associated with it are immediately made inaccessible to other Facebook users. What this means is that you effectively disappear from the Facebook service. However, if you want to reactivate at some point, we do save your profile information (friends, photos, interests, etc.), and your account will look just the way it did when you deactivated if you decide to reactivate it. Many users deactivate their accounts for temporary reasons and expect their information to be there when they return to the service.

If you do not think you will use Facebook again and would like your account deleted, please keep in mind that you will not be able to reactivate your account or retrieve any of the content or information you have added. If you would like your account permanently deleted with no option for recovery, log in to your account and then submit your request by clicking here.

If you are currently unable to access your account, you will need to reset your password in order to log in. In order to do so, click the "Forgot your password?" link that appears above the field where you would normally enter your password. Once you’ve followed the instructions to reset your password and can log in, you can deactivate or delete your account using the steps outlined above.

Privacy: Privacy settings and fundamentals

Privacy on Facebook is controlled primarily from the Privacy Settings ...
Privacy on Facebook is controlled primarily from the Privacy Settings page, which you can access from the Settings link at the top of any Facebook page. From here, there are settings for Profile, Search, News Feed and Wall, and Applications.

Profile privacy refers to the visibility of your profile information. You can control each type of profile content separately. Click the question mark to the right of any content type to learn more about what it includes. If you click "Edit Custom Settings" for any content type, you can exclude specific friends or Friend lists from viewing content by typing the first few letters of the friend or list in the "Except these People" field. There is also a "Contact Information" tab on this page for editing each element of your contact information.

Search privacy refers to who can find your Facebook profile, and what they can see and do when they reach it. On this page, you can select what groups of people can find you in search, and control how your profile looks to someone who can search for your profile but is not your friend. For example, you can prevent anyone who is not your friend from sending you a message or friend request. You can also enable or disable a public search listing, which is a basic Facebook page that people can find if they search for you on the Internet.

News Feed and Wall privacy allows you to control whether actions you take on the site could appear on your profile page or on your mutual friends’ News Feeds. The "Facebook Ads" tab on this page provides additional information about how your information or actions can sometimes be shown near advertisements.

Applications privacy is where you can control what profile information users can see when they participate in third party applications with you.

For any changes to your privacy settings, be sure to click "Save Changes" when your changes are complete.

Facebook sends a notification to every email address associated with an account when someone has been able to register one of the addresses on the account. This happens when a person clicks on a link sent to the email address when creating a new account, or when adding the address to an existing account.

If you still own the email address in question, you can add it back to your account by going to the "Settings" tab on the Account page and following the same process. You may want to change the password for the email address, as someone else may have been able to access it in order to confirm the contact change.

If you no longer own the address, you will not be able to add it back to your account. If you still own the email address but are unable to access it, please contact your email provider for assistance with regaining access to the address.

Spamming is the abuse of electronic messaging systems to indiscriminately send unsolicited bulk messages. While you may not have been purposely trying to commercially solicit other users, repeatedly sending the same message or making the same post is a violation of Facebook’s Terms of Use and is considered a very serious offense.

To protect our users from spam and other unsolicited commercial messages, Facebook has imposed stringent guidelines that flag when a user repeatedly sends or posts the same message, even if you were simply trying to organize a group or event.

Facebook has several recommended alternatives that can ensure these situations don’t arise again. If you were trying to organize an event and were sending out all of the information in messages, we suggest you create a Facebook Event by going to the Events page and then clicking "Create an Event." You can then fill in all the necessary information for the event and invite all your friends using the invite feature within the event. You can also utilize the "Message All" feature, which allows you to message all guests that have RSVP’d ‘yes’ to the event.

If you were trying to promote your group by posting a link to join it in a message, on a wall, or in a discussion board, this can be construed as spam. We suggest making your friends administrators of this group so that they can invite their friends using the Invite functionality built into the group. You can do this by clicking on "Edit Group Members" and then on "make admin" next to the users’ names. Each admin can invite his/her own friends to the group.

The Post Quality score measures how engaging your Posts have been to Facebook users over a rolling seven-day window.

Post Quality is an important indicator for how fans gauge your posts. This score is calculated with an algorithm that takes into account your number of posts, total fan interactions received, number of fans, as well as other factors. Post Quality scores can potentially be improved by:
  • Making sure that your posts, whether they are Wall posts, photos, or videos, are relevant to your fans. Disseminating interesting and meaningful content is the best way to get people to interact with your Page.

  • Not posting an overwhelming amount of low quality content. It is better to provide interesting posts, less frequently than it is to rapidly publish less engaging material.

  • Increasing your total fan base to garner more total interactions (create an ad link).

Facebook reports valid clicks. Many third-party reporting tools instead count page visits or views, which may not correspond directly to clicks. Additionally, your third-party reporting tool may not count certain clicks because the tool requires that your browser have cookies, Javascript, and/or images enabled in order to record statistics. Your third-party tools may also count clicks that we have already identified and filtered out of your reports and charges. Please remember that statistics measured at daily intervals may be based on different time zones, resulting in different daily totals.

If your ad links directly to the site you're advertising, and you're trying to track clicks on that ad by looking at page visits with facebook.com as the source, it's likely that your statistics will be different than the reports we provide to you. This is an expected discrepancy, as many of the page visit sources will be lost with this kind of tracking process. If you’d like more information about how to successfully use third-party systems to track your page visits, we recommend contacting the tracking company directly.

If you are unable to log in to your account and are receiving a warnin...
If you are unable to log in to your account and are receiving a warning that your account appears to be compromised, Facebook has detected suspicious activity on your account and has temporarily suspended it as a security precaution. It is possible that your password was "phished," or stolen by a website designed to look like Facebook. You will be able to regain access to your account once you complete the automated security verification process. When you regain access to your account, please be sure to follow all of the suggested security precautions, including:
  1. Password Protection: You should select a unique and complex password for your account and keep this entirely to yourself. Be sure that you use a complex string of numbers, letters, and punctuation marks that is at least six characters in length. It should also be different from other passwords you use elsewhere on the internet.
  2. Private Browsing: Please make sure that you log out of your Facebook account and quit your browser when you’re done using the site. This is especially important when using a public computer or someone else's mobile device. You should also never check the "Keep me logged in" box when logging in from a public computer, as this will keep you logged in even after you close your browser window.
  3. Secure Email: Since anyone who can read your email can probably also access your Facebook account, you should make sure that any email addresses associated with your account are secure. To ensure security, you should change the password for all of your email accounts and make sure that no two are the same. By varying your passwords, you can greatly decrease your account’s risk of being compromised in the future.
  4. Security Question: If you have not done so already, you should add a security question to your account from the Account Settings page. You should choose a question and answer that you will remember, and no one else should be able to answer the question that you choose.
  5. Log in at Facebook.com: Make sure that when you access the site, you always log in from a legitimate Facebook page with the facebook.com domain. Do not click any unfamiliar links and do not run any executable files (files ending in .exe) on your computer without knowing what they are. If something looks or feels suspicious, go directly to www.facebook.com to log in.
  6. Run Anti-Virus Software: If your computer has been infected with a virus or with malware, you will need to run anti-virus software to remove these harmful programs and keep your information secure.

There are three ways to block someone:
  1. Go to the Privacy Settings page. Enter the name or email address of the person you want to block in the Block People search field at the bottom of the page and then click "Block."
  2. If you cannot find someone using the Block People search field, but you are able to click to their profile page, you can block them by navigating to the "Report this Person" link at the bottom of their profile page. Once you click on the link, check the "Block this person" box and then click "Submit."
  3. Lastly, please note that you can block someone through the "Report" link located next to messages in your Inbox.
People will not be notified when you block them. If you are unable to block someone using any of the methods listed above, it is possible that they have left Facebook or have restricted their privacy settings. Please note that if you cannot block someone and would like to prevent them from viewing your profile, you can adjust your Privacy Settings accordingly.
