There are different reasons why you may not be able to access your account and unique ways to contact Facebook for each case. Therefore, it is important to be sure that you are using the correct channel when submitting a request for help. First, identify the correct reason why you are unable to access your account from the three reasons that are listed below. Then, follow the instructions listed by the reason that pertains to you.

Disabled for violating Facebook's Statement of Rights and Responsibilities
Facebook accounts that have been reported or detected for policy violations may be disabled by Facebook. Possible reasons include, but are not restricted to:

• Continued prohibited behavior after receiving a warning or multiple warnings from Facebook
• Unsolicited contact with others for the purpose of harassment, advertising, promoting, dating, or other inappropriate conduct
• Use of a fake name
• Impersonation of a person or entity, or other misrepresentation of identity
• Posted content that violates Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities (this includes any obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit photos, as well as any photos that depict graphic violence. We also remove content, photo or written, that threatens, intimidates, harasses, or brings unwanted attention or embarrassment to an individual or group of people)

Security disabled Accounts that have been reported or detected as compromised or phished may be disabled by Facebook. If you think your account was disabled for security reasons, refer to the Security section of the Help Center to find the correct contact form.

Can't log in due to access issues
If you are disabled, you will clearly see a "Disabled" message when you try to log in to your account. If you do not see this message, then your account is not disabled and you are simply experiencing login issues. You should refer to the Login and Password section of the Help Center to find the correct contact form.

Examples of login issues include:

• Inability to log in due to password problems
• Inability to log in due to an error message (e.g., "Site Maintenance," "Invalid/Unregistered Email Address," etc.)
• Inability to log in due to forgetting one's login email address or password
• Other technical difficulties accessing Facebook

If you deactivate your account from your Security Settings page, your profile (timeline) disappears from the Facebook service immediately. People on Facebook will not be able to search for you. Some information, like messages you sent, may still be visible to others.

In case you want to come back to Facebook at some point, we save your profile (timeline) information (friends, photos, interests, etc.) so that the information on your profile (timeline) will be there when you come back. A lot of people deactivate their accounts for temporary reasons.

If you do not think you will use Facebook again and would like your account deleted, keep in mind that you will not be able to reactivate your account or retrieve any of the content or information you have added. If you would like your account permanently deleted with no option for recovery, log in to your account and then submit your request here.


If you are currently unable to access your account, you will need to reset your password in order to log in. In order to do so, click the "Forgot your password?" link that appears above the field where you would normally enter your password. Once you’ve followed the instructions to reset your password and can log in, you can deactivate or delete your account using the steps outlined above.

From a Smartphone

• You can upload individual photos by clicking the    Photo button in the menu across the top of your profile (timeline), news feed, friend’s profile (timeline), or any groups you’re in
• You can also upload photos using your personalized upload email address

iPhone and iPad app only

• You can upload multiple photos from the    Photo button:

  1. Tap the    Photo button
  2. Choose an existing photo or take a photo
  3. Tag the photo and tap next
  4. In the "Say something about this" screen, tap the photo
  5. Pick Choose From Library or Take Photo
  6. Repeat

  Note: You can also remove photos from the post by tapping any photo and taping     above the photos you want to remove.
  
  
• You can create a new album or upload photos to an existing album:

  1. Tap    (top-left of any page)
  2. Select    Photos
  3. Tap the album you want to add to, or tap    at the top-right to create a new album
  4. Use the    to add any additional photos to the album

From a Feature Phone

1. From Home scroll down to Bookmarks
2. Click Photos
3. Click Upload Photos
4. Use your personalized upload email address

Emails sent to your @facebook.com email address are integrated with your messages, chats, and texts, so you have everything in one place. Your Facebook messages are also compatible with traditional email systems (ex: Hotmail, Yahoo! or Gmail). This means:

• When people send you emails from other places, they’re delivered directly to your Facebook Messages.
• When you send an email to friends on traditional email systems, your email will come from your username@facebook.com and look like Facebook messages (including your name, profile picture and message).

Only emails from people that fall within the message privacy setting you choose will be delivered to your Facebook Messages. For example, if you select the Friends setting, you will not receive messages from email addresses that we can't confirm as belonging to one of your friends. Instead, those senders will receive automatic bounce-back replies.

If an email appears to be from someone you know but we're unable to confirm the sender's address, you will still receive the message, but it will include a warning.

No, please use your authentic personal Facebook account to develop your app. According to section 4.1 of the Statement of Rights and Responsibilities, people on Facebook should not provide false account information.

Once you create your app, you can add other developers to the app for app testing and development. Apps with fake developer accounts attached will be subject to enforcement action.

While all developer accounts must be legitimate personal accounts, developers may create test accounts to test the app.
