High-Def Digest Vaughn continues to line his pockets by hocking lazy coal.

Source: bluray.highdefdigest.com
Warner Bros., having not learned from the painful commercial and critical beating that their expensive, borderline unwatchable 'Fred Claus' the year before, bankrolled yet another pricey, inert Vince Vaughn holiday "comedy," this time with the asinine title 'Four Christmases.'

High-Def Digest A lot of similarities to Benjamin Button, only this one connects with viewers.

‘Forrest Gump’ is the touching tale of a man from Alabama who possesses an IQ of 75, but still winds up in the middle of every major American event from the 1950s to the 1980s -- from the Vietnam War to becoming one of the first investors in Apple.

I knew if I held out long enough at least one of the titles from the Ghost House Underground wave would turn out to be somewhat decent and entertaining. Luckily, the production company from long-time partners Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert give horror fans not one but two creepy flicks. ...

An interesting rivalry of sorts has developed with the direct-to-video animated superhero movie market. DC has been releasing properties with a deal through parent company Warner Bros. (and their Warner Premiere shingle), over the past couple of years. ...

Yeah last January... Everytime I see an old title get reviewed like this my first thought is that the site is messed up. But the review is new (I checked). It's nice to see older titles get their reviews. (even if they take 10 months! LoL)

High-Def Digest Now THIS is a fun western!

Source: bluray.highdefdigest.com
The western always seems to be on the verge of a comeback every few years, usually spurred on by a director who was shaped by the genre in their youth. Most recently this was on the verge of happening ...

In the history of film, "remakes" and "reimaginings" can be traced as far back as MGM's 'Ben-Hur', Cecil B. DeMille's 'The Ten Commandments', and Alfred Hitchcock's "The Man Who Knew Too Much' (where he remade his own film!). ...

But this was a good remake. After this... the remakes just came flying outta everywhere, and they mostly suck.

I own this BD and the 2-DVD special edition. One great disappointment is that the theatrical trailer, anamorphic on the DVD, renowned for its incredible surround sound, is in non-anamorphic SD on the Blu-Ray, with stereo sound only.

High-Def Digest Eastwood. Clint Eastwood.

Source: bluray.highdefdigest.com
As a movie, it's deceptively simple. It's all about $200,000 in Confederate gold, which is being scrambled after by our titular characters in the dusty, frayed edges of the Civil War. There's Clint Eastwood's ...

I'm glad that the Blu Ray is free of the colorized version. No matter how many times they've colorized it, it never looks natural at all. I applaud Fox for sticking to the original vision of a Holiday Classic

High-Def Digest Here's a readers tip that I just checked out. Go to time 47:39 in 'Star Trek' (2009) and step frame til you see R2D2 fly over Sulu's head in the debris field! He's there, but just for a few frames!

"I like this ship. You know, it's exciting!" Rebooting old movie franchises is all the rage in Hollywood these days. When a once-popular film series starts to lose its luster and outlive its usefulness, the time may come to hit the Reset button and start over fresh. ...

Anthony, the reason why he is such an A-hole and because the story is out of whack is because the history was "changed" from what happened in the beginning of the movie. It created a completely different time line which in effect changed Kirk's outlook on a lot of things.
