Last week I posed for Christmas card pictures with a cedar wreath around my neck. Mom tried it on Uzzi but it wouldn’t go over his horns, so he pouted while I posed.

Hoop houses aren't heated. I'll be checking the mail for the next issue! Our farm isn't a hobby, it's how I make my living, but I've learned something from *every* issue.

Here in NE PA the rain did add to the biggest dilemma in my garden...the blight that wiped out all of my tomato plants and about an acre of hand-planted potatoes. The rest of my large garden fared pretty well, if a bit late. Luckily I chose an area that seems to drain well as many neighbors had zero luck. My corn, broccoli, cauliflower, snap peas, ... See Morecarrots, cukes, and pumpkins all did well and ripened on schedule. My peppers, sweet and hot were very late and I ripened lots of them inside on windowsills as well. Lettuce and spinach were unfazed by anything-I actually still have spring mix growing despite several frosts here in the mountains.
