HonorAir Knoxville HonorAir Knoxville Chairman Eddie Mannis wrote a guest column for the Knoxville News Sentinel for Veteran's Day. You can read the article here

Samuel Hardman I guess the greatest joy I experienced was to be at the airport to help send them off and the to be there to greet them on their return to Knoxville. The concorse was filled with family and friends and having the flags made it more patriotic. The good Lord has blessed me in so many ways and I hope to ne able to contrib...ute more as long as the flights continue. I would be remise not to mention the great help of Ms Dawn Ford. What a great Lady. Thank you again Eddie for using me. Fraternally, Sam Hardman

Samuel Hardman None of we Vets will ever forget the reception we received in Washington and the huge crowd to greet us on our return to Knoxville, with flags and the U T Band playing Rocky Top.Thanks to the Woodmen of the World Life Insurance And Fraternal Society for the flagsfor all the trips and for using me to help raise money fo...r future flights following my trip. Lots of the organizations that I contacted were very generous. I was happy to make the TV commercial, the talk radio shows and to be inthe newspaper ad.

Samuel Hardman When I got to go on the second flight in May of 2008 it was the experience of a lifetime as I never expected to be able to get to go.Then to top it off there was Sen Bob Dole at the entrance to greet us as we entered . I got to meet him and thank him him for all his efforts over the years. The trip was wonderful in ever...y way and to see the changing og the Guard at Arlington National Cemetery was awesome.

Samuel Hardman When I first heard of the Honor Air program to send WW2 Vets to Washington to see the memorial my first thoughts went back to a letter I have in my file dated Nov. 5, 1997 thanking me for a small donation I had made to help build the WW2 Memorial and that I was a Charter Member. Also a letter from Sen. Bob Dole stating... that he had agreed to be Chairman of the Committee to raise funds to build it..

Samuel Hardman This is Sam Hardman. Please suppport this great organization for the upcomming flight to DC. It is a great honor to ngo and returning home to friends and family top the day off in perfect patriotic pride. Meet the Veterand as they come home on April 28th at 8pm at Tyson Mcghee Airport.
