Hope College The Admissions Office will be hosting Visit Days on Friday, February 19 and Friday, February 26. More information and registration is available online:

Visit Days are an excellent choice for visiting Hope's campus. A Visit Day provides more of a structured campus visit than an individual visit, but still provides the flexibility to create a day that best suits your needs.

I guess I would have liked to have seen one or two students talk about the Hope Legacy they inherited and maybe some alumni discussing how Hope laid the foundation for who they are, but as a generational alum maybe I am just biased. Students talking about the experience is all fine and good but when I looked at colleges I was looking at the bigger picture of my professional development after college etc.

Actually it is my understanding that Hope has its own recruiter for homeschooled students as does Stanford and some other schools.

Hope College The sixth graders at the Kenmore School in Baldwin Park, Calif. have a distinct Hope College look thanks to their teacher, Hope alumna Susan Van Kley, Class of 1983. College awareness and readiness is a high priority at the school. Each classroom teacher selects a college that has meaning for them and, instead of room ...numbers, the class is called by the college's name. This year the parent boosters purchased shirts for the students who would be in the Hope Class of 2020. Students start each day with the whole school cheering "We're Kenmore School, hear our sound. We all know we're college bound. We're Kenmore School and we're here to say, we're all going to college someday." The kids in Sue's class also have a Hope cheer that they do at special events.

I know some elementary schools that have pennants with the teacher's alma mater beside the door of each classroom. College awareness is big there in other ways as well. This is a great trend!
