The Huey P. long Mississippi River Bridge Widening Project, near New Orleans, began in 2006.

This project will be constructed in four phases and will be completed in 2013.

    The completed project will include:
  • - Three 11-foot travel lanes in each direction
  • - A 2-foot inside shoulder and an 8-foot outside shoulder
  • - New signalized intersections to replace the traffic circles at Jefferson Highway and Bridge City Avenue
