Huntingdon, PA
Our town sits in a wonderful scenic valley in the middle of the Alleghenies. Just outside of town, you will find the type of recreation you would expect from our beautiful area, Raystown Lake, a lake that stretches for nearly 30 miles.

Huntingdon, PA While just a year old, the Allegrippis Trails at Raystown Lake already are drawing rave reviews from mountain bikers as the most fun-filled place to ride this side of the Mississippi. In October, Allegrippis earned a “season’s best weekend trip” selection in National Geographic Adventure magazine:

Among my pet peeves are journalists who blow into town with an attitude or agenda, seek out that which reinforces their preconceived perspectives, then trash our region in the resulting articles or stories.

Huntingdon, PA A leak in the borough's old water line is blamed for the ... and businesses in the Huntingdon County community were without service.

What this area needs is a water line that runs from Coalmont all the way into Wood, Robertsdale, Broad Top City. Also, have the local contractors put it in because they know the area well to keep the prices low. HRI from State College really screwed alot of people when they put the sewer line the area..things still aren't right. Also, where the pay raises really necessary for the county employees? I say NO....need more be said? Now, wake the hell up....

Kathy Allen I lived in Smithfield Twp. for 15 years. Moved away 2 years ago. Just wanted to say how much I miss al the wonderful friends and aquaintances that came into my life there. I especially want to tell all the James Saints at the Lutheran Church what a blessing they have been to an out-of-towner!! Miss you MOST.

Jimmy Could someone please explain to me why Coalmont, between Saxton and Dudley, is exempt from connection to boro water either from Dudley or Liberty boro ? People are told them need to connect to Dudley Boro Water or must pay a $25.00 fe every month, but they are even exempt from that and Coalmont is part of the Water/Se...wer Authority....I intend to post this issue on my other site......2000+

Will So...what's the story with the borough cutting down trees in the community? I see a couple nice trees are scheduled for termination along the 700 block of Warm Springs Avenue. Budgets are tight. Why waste money cutting down healthy trees?

It's great that they finally opened the bridge - how we don't feel cut off from the rest of the borough.

Jimmy Question. Is there any of the Huntingdon County Commissioners or anyone from The Huntingdon County Planning & Development on FB? The reason I ask, they should have a open forum where the people from the county can do a Q & A with them. You never hear from them except Election time.....

Jimmy it is funny you should mention that. I will be launching a Huntingdon County based website within the next few days that has an open forum, business directory, daily news articles, Raystown information, and much more. I will post here and other places in a few days.
