Patrick I'm in the middle of a superbly fascinating book called Spent: Sex, Evolution, and Consumer Behavior that presents consumerism from an evolutionary point of view. It's worth a read if anyone has an interest in the topic.

I think that luxury does, indeed, have a future and that it's future will be far more intriguing than its past. As it is, the luxury industry is a sort of strange economic anomaly. Moving forward, I think we'll see an ultra-niche expansion of luxury goods that moves away from big players like Louis Vuitton and more int...o low-key artists, designers, and experiences.
People today already spend more on the things that they really care about. Someone who enjoys fine dining has no problem spending $100 on dinner and someone with a taste for one-of-a-kind art will shell out a lot of money just to get it. In the future, I think we're going to see that idea become increasingly more powerful. Luxury will be less flashy and more personal. We'll spend a lot of money on the luxuries that we really care about (and since, for some, that's clothing and handbags we'll still have the brands we do today).Read More

Robyn Nariyoshi Luxury does have a future.... it's called green efficiency. Luxury products that are innovative, efficient, and environmentally friendly both during it's production and function. All of that and still be sleek, modern, and classy.

Garazi Izaguirre I think that in the future the non massive produced products and food will be the luxury products.

Faisal Malik guys... wht abut the flying cars?? will invent or not?

Rupa Chaturvedi Noronha Same values: family time, great conversations and food mostly grown in our backyard. I think we will value fresh and organic food more than ever in years to come.

Nancy Bolling Hernandez In twenty years, my oldest son will probably have a family of his own. I imagine him sitting around the table with his children and asking them how their day was. But dinnertime will be different for every child, just as it is now. The questions is: how many children will be doing without dinner because of an overpopulated planet?

Sam Crespi I still wonder what kind of protective 'enironment' we will be growing edible plants in...because if we're even half way to 6 degrees celsius growing anything will be a challenge... perhaps we will all be wearing the suits from Herbert's 'Dune' that recycle our body water.. or maybe if there are still cloud formations we'll be seeding them for rainwater..

Mujtaba Hassan what is terrorism? what about suicide bombing?

Mujtaba Hassan new "h2 Home"! Generating water at home from the atmosphare, is it environmently friendly? what about ecological balance? what about the abstraction of the water in the air? will it not cause any damage to the rain-fall?

Julian John Goss more about the family than the dinner, more about the moments than the meatballs
