I am going to be posting an item on the blog about the "release of rights" you mention here. Suffice it to say that anyone submitting a photo gives us the right to use it in any way. It does not deny them the right (in any way whatsoever) to use the photos themselves for profit or publication elsewhere.

The top paragraph says winners get "a nice ... See Moreselection Fairbanks-themed gifts." The items we have on hand often change, but have included backpacks, hats, mugs, pens and various other items with the Fairbanks logo. There are usually about ten items within the prize package.
