inspiring Moms TGIF! We're wrapping up a productive week at inspiring Moms and just about ready for the bus to drop off the kids and their friends for "Play Date Friday". It's our one day of the week when our kids are able to bring home a friend. Anderson helped me bake the cookies and I think we'll serve them with milk and smoothies. Make it a great weekend!

I used to put it right out in the open so its not hidden they get tired (bored) of looking at it.after awhile it gets tossed.

Tracey Lanter Eyster I put some in their school lunches, but...I go through the Halloween Candy, take out lots of the "un-Halloween" stuff, hide it until Christmas and put it in their stockings! Sneaky...huh?

love it! I'm on it, except that they have their candy sorted into brands, sizes, etc... I'll have to be uber-sneaky! :)

inspiring Moms Even though Holiday music is already playing on the radio, most families still have pounds of Halloween candy begging to be opened. What is your rule regarding eating it, storing it, or giving it away?

I like the switch witch idea. Will have to try next year. We give the kids a manageable number of pieces and let them have whenever they want. We get to see their 'candy personalities'. Some save until Easter, others are gone in days.

how about just letting them eat it? part of the fun of halloween (at least as i remember it) is the lovely pile of candy, sorting it, choosing what to trade with your sister, choosing what you're willing to give up to mom and dad...they're were usually lurking around waiting to snag a few pieces anyhow. for all those who posted ideas for the "... Read Moreexcess" (and i mean this in the most constructive way) look around your homes, at the cars in your garage, your closet, your jewelry box, your makeup table, your big screen TV's, your cocktails, your dinners out, your cute gym clothes, your shoes...you get the idea. consider your own "grown up" excess and compare that to the annual candy pile. maybe it's time to share (donate) some of your stuff, whether it's time or your self. candy isn't bad, greed is.

I love Halloween; watching the kids race through our neighborhood screaming for each other to wait up, while munching on their favorite candy—honestly does it get any better than this as moms or as kids? One of my favorite traditions every year since my oldest were little is to make cocoa for everyone and then curl up..., candy bags spilled out on floor, and watch our favorite Halloween movie, ever; Kiki's Delivery Service. No matter the ages of my kids, this tradition is enjoyed by EVERYONE. It wouldn’t be a Davis Halloween without it! Check it out on Amazon.com: http://tinyurl.com/yfkk6gmRead More

I love this question.  Our children, like many, have conferences this week so the timing couldn’t be better. First off, understand that your feelings of nervousness and anxiety are normal. Many moms feel like they are on “review” as much, if not more, than their kids. Dig deep to not...
