What makes me smile

Shannon Skelcher

Shannon Skelcher Hello! I just got my first set of aligners today and I am having a heck of a time talking. Will this go away? My mouth just feels so full even though there's not that much there. :(

Get them filed down in the back, and this will go away once your teeth start moving and then it is time for the next set. Good Luck

Jessica

Jessica So, has anyone gotten these when they are missing a tooth? Will it still work? I have one of my bottom teeth that never grew in (and I'm 24, so I don't think that it's going to).

Why wouldn't it? (unless it causes an issue if the tooth is under the gum). With Invisalign, ometimes people who have overcrowded teeth get an extraction to help make room so I kinda see it as the same sort of thing.
Depends why you need Invisalign, overcrowded/crooked teeth or if you have spaces.

Marty Sweezey

Marty Sweezey Hello everyone! Just got my new 6 month "revisions" yesterday and am horrified with the new attachments. Before I had 2 attachments on the top canines & they were off to the side. Now I have one HUGE bubble, off-centered, on the bottom of my tooth and it is EXTREMLEY visible and WEIRD looking. I have never seen any pic...tures of attachments looking like this. I understand these are braces and there is nothing glamorous about them, but I am so frustrated because my ortho said I dont even need the attachments (which I did not have put on). I'm having anxiety attacks just thinking about going out in public. Has anyone ever complained and received new trays?

2 attachments? Thats nothing! I have 16! LOL But they're all in the back except two on my top canine's. It's obvious to me, but most people can't see it if they're not inches from my face.

Joey

Joey Went to Ortho today for third set of trays and he did something they call "disking". He filed in between my four front upper teeth with a drill (NOT fun!) and then "flossed" between them with something with diamond blades (felt like floss with teeth). I don't know what the hell he did but it sucked. I now have sligh...t gaps between my front teeth (nothing noticeable, but it feels weird) but apparently it's necessary to give my teeth room to move. I'm now self-medicating with a bottle of wine...lol :D

Have had to endure 3 sets of this. Was given complete set of aligners up front and its marked on the plastic bag when more is required. I may have to have revision treatment as some of the gaps haven't closed up and treatment nearly complete.

I'll try to get some good pics...maybe I'll ask my orthodontist. I had them for 15 months...it went a LOT faster than I thought it would.

I know what you mean - I HATE the buttons. I am at the point where I wear the lowers full time, but upper only at night & have SEVEN nasty buttons that really show with the tray off. :( 10 weeks to go, but it will be so worth it

Monique Anyone have a partial aligner on top or bottom? My Ortho said the mold left out my back tooth but that it didn't matter because he wasn't moving my back tooth. It seems quite wrong. Anyone else have a partial tray?

Mine is the very back tooth on the left top too. I don't have wisdom teeth. The aligner is not missing a tooth on both sides, just one. My bite feels wrong with only one tooth left out, no symmetry. Makes me grind my teeth.

The guy creating the mold seemed rather new and not too experienced. He had to keep asking someone in the back if it was right. This adds to my feeling of it is was a simple mistake that my aligners are not symmetrical. Saying my teeth will still move the way they should is not synonymous with saying the aligner was purposely created this way.

I was so excited to get my new braces and so disapponted when I left the office with what seemed like a mistake even though ..yes I was told it will still have the same result. Just felt kind of jipped, like someone was in a hurry and not being careful. ... See More
Glad to have this place to vent. Wish my uneven aligner was for a specfic purpose and not just a simple mistake.
