Sandra I will be starting my treatment in a month or so... I can't wait! :-)

Nichole Groh Blass Loved it!! Finished, refinements and all, and I highly recommend permament retainers if you have room in your bite, along with whatever retainer your dds recommends.

Dustin hey question for anyone on this group. I have been drinking beer occasionally while my aligners are in and have had other drinks with them in. I don't do it a lot but maybe once or twice a week. I know they tell you not to do this, but come on let's be practical. Are you going to keep your aligners out every time you go to the bar or have something other than water to drink. I got to think others are doing the same thing and have bent this rule more than once. If so...will it affect the treatment????

Nichole at 11:16am June 29
They don't want you drinking hot liquids because they can distort the aligners and other liquids shouldn't really sit on your teeth for very long and they can stain your aligners, like coffee, red wine, etc. I bet if you just drink some water every so often, you should be fine from staining.

Dustin at 3:16pm July 3
ok, but I don't drink hot liquids. Do any of you two drink liquids outside of water with them in or have you? What if you want to drink a few beers at the bar or a family event...are you telling me that you keep them out for a whole hour to do this? Just doesn't seem practical to me

Courtney Russell I just got my third set of aligners (3/15 for top and 3/19 for bottom) in yesterday, witch meant the attachments and disking, and my top teeth along with bottom are already much straighter, I'm so glad I did get these rather than traditional "train tracks" so worth it!

Julie Davidovich qustion can i get invisalign only on the top for now and then choose to do the bottom later on...my bottoms are a little over crowded but straight enough and im really not interested in changing them...and how much should the top cost if its for about 7 months?

Sarah May Quiocho I'm on my first week! I can notice a very VERY small difference. I'm going to have the top for 14 weeks and the bottom for 28 (7 months) It kinda sucked the first couple of days because I had a lisp and I'm a hospital operator, so when I made announcements, I sounded silly.

Emily Bevis Hello! I'm on my first week of Invisalign, I have to have them for 9 months. How long does it take to start seeing a change? Is it true that it's not normally til around aligner 10?
Shelley at 9:45am June 24
I noticed mine within the first couple of trays. You may be pleasantly surprised on how quickly you notice the difference.
David N Penny at 4:06pm June 29
I have seen a change and I am only on tray 4. I have been very pleased with them so far :)

Lorraine Bell I'm on tray 22 of 29 top and finished 13 of 13 at the bottom, really pleased so far. Can see my blog & pictures on a review site if you're interested

Cheryl at 6:21am June 20
Yes please... Do you have a link to your blog? :)

Karen Glazer Goldfarb Love the invisalign. This is day 8 and my teeth are just starting to hurt. Can't wait to see the results of a really beautiful smile.

Juliet Warren I'm on my 1st week of aligners 4... so just over 8 weeks in... my dentist said most people don't see a difference till aligners 10! But people have actually said to me they can see the difference. I am so so sooo happy, my teeth have upset me for so long and to know they're changing and I'm going to have a perfect smile just makes all the money/pain/time worth it (not that they even hurt that much haha). I would love to hear from other Invisalign fans :-) I'm in the UK and learning to smile more and more each day :-D

Ann Van Alt Day four -- so far, so good. The aligners are reminding me of plastic vampire fangs. I have a whole year of Halloween to look forward to! ;)

Andrea Santilli Jennifer, it is worth every penny. I had braces as a teen and they shifted again because my wisdom teeth came in which caused an overcrowding issue again (widsom teeth were extracted afterwords). Now at 38 I am able to do this again with less pain, no bleeding gums from wires, etc. It is AWESOME. Nobody really notices them either unless you really point it out to them. They also straighten in less time!

Jennifer Moreno Someday, I will have Invisalign. :) I did 5 years of conventional braces, and my teeth have drifted (tongue thrust). My midline is still straight...just need some realignment. :) Maybe I'll do this once my toddler is out of daycare. ;) I'll keep up with my friend to see how happy she is with hers.

Gale Roberts Smith Only 16 weeks to go!! I can't wait to see the end result!

Ann Van Alt Started wearing my first Invisalign trays yesterday afternoon. So far, so good! Can't wait to see what the end result is a year from now.

Jennifer P. Mumme I am currently in treatment...only 9 aligners and about to begin stage 6! However this is a refinement...grr...

Lene HI all. I just got my alligners four days ago...so i have a long way to go elleven month :-O. I happy so far with them. Peolpe does't notice them at all, altough i have the attachments on the front teath.

María Isabel I tried to open a discussion thread and it was deleted. I was asking how many people were having the issue of a posterior open bite while in this treatment (this is really worrying me now). Why was it deleted?
Nichole at 11:24am June 29
Have you let your dds know? They may need to refine your treatment and/or your anterior bite. My anterior teeth were hitting much sooner, so we did a lot of "filing" and it's much better now. You want that fixed because if your bite isn't even, you can be pushing (forcing) your anterior teeth out and screwing up your alignment (like I was).

Stacie Denisov I know I'm probably just being impatient, but I was wondering: how long did it take for everyone to receive your aligners?
David N Penny at 1:33pm June 12
roughly 3-4 weeks
Andrea at 12:14pm June 18
a month and a half

Dana Marie Battles I've had invisalign for a while, but its been rather good. I just hate the buttons!!
Rossalyn at 1:25pm June 27

This is an outcome based treatment where the patient can see the final treatment because there is software that digitizes your teeth. Also Invisalign has a high lab fee to the dentist. Take my word,it is worth it. How much was the fee in New York. We charge between $4,200 and $6,600 depending on the complexity of the case.

Dustin at 7:05pm June 13
well bernie, I sure as hell hope so. I paid 5300 and with a loan it was 6700 with interest. So far almost done with aligner 4 of 19 and I'm not seeing enough change were I'm even close to being pleased. hopefully this changes as I get closer to the conclusion of my treatment

Ruth at 6:37am June 4
What's a "refinement period" ?
Bernie at 12:34pm June 4
Refinement is when the dentist makes the real world and computer clincheck the same at the end of treatment before going into retainers. If a few teeth don't track perfect then new impressions are taken and sent in for a new clincheck and several more aligners to finish the case. It will make your teeth more perfect and is included in the fee in our office. Have Fun!

Dustin I started my treatment on April 22, 2009 and almost 6 weeks into it. I have 19 aligners on bottom and top. I put in tray number 4 this coming week. So far, I have noticed slight change. I can tell the teeth are moving though because my bite has definately changed. It's a pain in the ass taking them out for every meal though, but overall they don't interfere too much with your life. Best of all, no one has noticed I'm wearing them, even with the attachments on. Obviously this is a plus.

Holly I love Invisalign! I am a teacher and my students haven't noticed that I am wearing them. I did lisp when I first got them, but I quickly got used to having them in my mouth. I am 5 months into my treatment and I have noticed a lot of movement!

Terrie Rea Huff I am 44 yrs old and I got invisalign braces in Dec. 2008. I only have to wear them for 9 months and I can already tell my teeth are moving.
