Both teams were taken to the limit, and it would take five sets to determine a winner, but in the end, the Cyclones won the match 3–2 (22–25, 25–22, 25–15, 20–25, 15–12).

Horrible coverage of the volleyball team. They're #9 in the nation and couldn't get more than a sidebar below the fold?!?! Unbelievable. Yes, football brings in more money to the university and I am still high from the Nebraska win, but COME ON! And hockey is a club sport that is not even allowed to use Iowa State ...University in their marketing (and we all know why the university doesn't allow it). Let's see more about volleyball - do a player profile spread over the next few weeks since they're hosting the only two Big XII teams they've lost to (Baylor and Texas). Some of them are real comedians in addition to being terrific athletes. Start with Victoria Henson - she is great!Read More

I love the Daily, by the way. Just disappointed this fall with lopsided sports coverage given how well all sports are doing...

Nicci,
I appreciate your comments and concern regarding the volleyball team. We strive to provide as much coverage for Cyclone sports as possible. We are well aware of the volleyball team’s success this year and have tried to shape our coverage around it. We routinely focus a large amount of our resources (reporters, photographers, etc.) to covering volleyball. We run at least 3-4 volleyball stories per week. In the last week we have run five full-length stories about the team, including a feature story about coach Christy Johnson-Lynch and her newborn child. Due to last week’s upset against Nebraska being on the road, we were, regrettably, unable to provide the level of content I would have liked. However, we did run two recap stories on Monday, as well as a large picture of Victoria Henson. Again, I appreciate your comments. As the volleyball team continues its successful season, we will continue to provide consistent coverage. If you have any other further concerns, you are welcomed to contact me directly. Thank you.

Iowa State Daily The Board of Regents meeting is Wednesday. They are explaining how Iowa State should proceed in cutting millions from the budget. What questions should we ask? What do you value most?

Its going to be very difficult for ISU to cut that much funding. One thing i knowtice is the design classes have a studio and a lecture. Get rid of the lectures because we can learn everything in the studio. Offer more online course work. Online courses can be used in any class really with the advanced technologies we have today. Also there is TA's that can be used more to assist the professors.
