I wouldn't trust email forwarding if I were you. There are several (very common) circumstances under which we'll be unable to deliver (forward) to your account and those messages will be lost. I encourage you to give the new platform a try, at least.

I also agree with John. Just be glad that you get that extra money to use on whatever you want to. How are you going to complain about getting free money, no matter how it is given to you. They could pay for books and tuition and be done with it. Instead, the extra money is given to you to help out with expenses while you are in school. Suck it up and deal with it, people. It sounds kinda greedy when you don't even want to pay a couple bucks to use money that otherwise you wouldn't have.

First, this money is not free. If you think it is you need to find something else to do so someone that deserves your grant can go to school. It's people like the girl above me that makes this idea a bad one. She has no idea how to handle money. Next, anyone that thinks this card is a good idea is fiscally ignorant. John and Emily are not being ... Read Morevery smart with this.
Amanda you need to do more research or get a better atm card than the one you have. 50 cents a transaction on top of many other fees. Direct deposit takes 2 days longer and is free. Why seek out a higher one atm which I do not think Evansville even has when I can use my bank that has hundreds of atms?

Don't know about Fort Wayne but Elkhart has all kinds of things. I got my son an MP4 player last year for Christmas there. Elkhart Campus is so small, so if we have something like that I am sure Fort Wayne does.

i think the point is just to get all your personal info updated so when they send you notices and checks that will not forward you won't show up in the office crying about how you need money for groceries and gas and shoes. If I am fortunate enough to win it will save me money at x-mas when I gift it to someone who can use it.

I got an iPod for Christmas (not bragging, just sayin'), so I could probably make use of a gift card, haha. I'd probably end up buying songs for my mom or my sister, though. Wait... my mom doesn't have an iPod. Oh well.

I agree. All this rip card teaches people is how not to use a card. 50 cents for every transaction? I really feel Ivy Tech should be ashamed of even offering a rip card. Direct Deposit is just as fast with zero fees. Do not be fooled by this. They are called rip cards for a reason. They rip you off.
