Vlisco is a Dutch co., but are there designers African? I've been on their site and tried to get info on who's behind them. Please do share if anyone have the facts.

That's a good point Fifi. In some way, it is the same fashion aesthetics, with steps in the African cultural direction. But it is wonderful to see progress being made, and I think at some point even African hair texture(s) will be as popularly valued as is the texture of hair bought from (poor) Indian women and that created by companies who aren't... See More promoting our culture. All of our aesthetics should be celebrated, not just the ones that conform most to "the standards" we've already been indoctrinated it. It really is wonderful to see steps in that direction.
