Emma Lee Drews So last week, I bought a betta fish and a snail which I promptly named Amir Ishmael (fish) and Jacob Malachi (snail), Jake and Amir for short. Knowing betta's reputation for violence, I asked the pet shop guy if the Amir could live with the Jake, and he said, "Of course, he's not a fish, the betta won't bother him. He'll be fine." He seemed so sure about it; I didn't question it. Four days later, I come home and Amir is swimming around all happy with himself, and Jake is no longer against the glass. Amir beat the shit out of Jake and eventually killed him before I could get home.

One has to wonder...is this a foreshadowing of things to come with the real Jake and Amir? If I were Jake, I'd sleep with one eye open.
