The Dove Campaign has really helped open my eyes to a lot of the fake-ness in the media. Hey Jess!
My name is Dilara Onur and I am a high school student in Campbell. As a graduation requirement, each student must complete a project (consisting of a research paper, project, and presentation) about a desired topic. This year, they changed the project to include a "Service Learning" section (where our research.../project will help a certain type of community). For my project, I am researching how Disney films degrade women (dependence to men, powerlessness, and materialism) and how these negative messages put pressure on the girls who watch them. For our paper, we need a primary source, or someone to interview. My friend and I stumbled across a Dove commercial, starting researching the website, and saw the work that you do with adolescent girls. I was messaging you to ask if you could be my primary source for my paper. If you are unable to, that is fine... but I would love to have a chance to talk to you! Thank you.Read More
