Joe Simitian I'll be hosting an Education Update meeting on January 23rd in Palo Alto. This is an opportunity for school officials, educators, parents, and education advocates to share your concerns, get an update on the state's education budget, and discuss current K-12 legislation.

Joe Simitian Friends, I'm pleased to report that I received top marks from environmental and senior groups on their annual scorecards.

The California League of Conservation Voters (CLCV) and the Congress of California Seniors both gave Simitian 100% scores on their 2009 scorecards, which grade legislators’ voting records.

Joe Simitian Yesterday the Governor also vetoed SB 14, which would have given California the strongest renewable energy standard in the country: 33% by the year 2020. I'll continue working with the Governor's office to see if we can find common ground and get a bill signed. Stay tuned.
