Interesting..I have switched from sculpting to painting/drawing as well with at least 12 in the works, none finished, just switch to a new one when it needs to dry. What is your subject matter?

Jon Beinart This article about my Toddlerpedes was published in MX today. The article was specifically calling out for second hand baby doll donations... So hopefully the generous people of Melbourne will send their second hand dolls my way.. Hint hint. Apparently the same article will be printed in the equivalent newspapers in Sy...dney and Brisbane too. Thanks Nicole Cleary for this opportunity!!

This article was printed in MX on Friday, December 11, 2009. The special xmas edition.

Thanks guys! I wish you lived closer too Christian.. Sounds ideal. I'd approach a few homeless shelters here if I was more shameless. I'd feel like I was stealing from homeless children :/

Hi Elbee,

Please send your doll bits to the following address. If you need a home address, please let me know in a private message. Here's my PO Box:... See More

Jon Beinart The MX photographer took photos of me with my giant Toddlerpede today. There will be a short article and pic about my sculpture in MX this week (possibly tomorrow). If anyone spots it, please let me know. MX is a newspaper that gets handed out on public transport in Melbourne (useless trivia for people who don't live h...ere). Off to the studio now... I'm painting again.. Hoorah!

Jon Beinart The people behind http://craftastrophe.net (love the name) asked me if they could use a Toddlerpede for their logo. They blog about craft oddities, many of which relate to genitals... so I said yes. Who doesn't like genitals?!

Jon Beinart Another studio shot with the Giant Toddlerpede. I wasn't actually looking to the heavens for inspiration... I was just waiting for the flash to go off while wondering if I looked natural... Photo by Max Milne.

Jon Beinart 'Bubbles' - Oil Painting by Jon Beinart 2009.

Jon Beinart

Jon Beinart I just found this blog article about creepy doll creations and they mentioned my sculptures. I really like some of the other artists mentioned in the article. I particularly like Jan Svankmajer (my hero!), The Brothers Quay, Scott Radke, Elizabeth McGrath, Pat Lillich & Beth Robinson.

Not all dolls are for children - as evidenced by the incredibly bizarre and amazing art dolls, puppets and sculpture of these 15 artists.
