Was told the other day what would take care of this problem {by a 1K no less}....1st bag free to check, charge for all carry on rollerboards....there would be an exponential drop in bags brought on and a whole lot less drama. So of course, United would never agree to this!

The company messed up on this policy...it should be, charge for carry ons and maybe we wouldn't have to do 150 announcements about how to store their bags and then check what doesn't fit...another "well thought out" policy (NOT!)
