Dave I've got a commencement announcement from Juniata that is dated 1910. It has an announcement card for a Mr. John Lloyd Harshman. Does anyone know any descendants of this person? It's be fun to get this stuff back to the proper family.

Maybe not deleted, but 'corrected' might be in order.

1) Unless you can clarify what being "culturally backwards" entails, it has no place here.
2) It's "Weis", not "wise", and while there's only one, you seem to be neglecting the Giant and the numerous produce sellers on 22.
3) If you think there are no cultural events (either in Huntingdon or at... Read More Juniata) then you have missed much. Tonight, for Homecoming, I'm about to watch 500 Clown Frankenstein on campus, followed by a live band performance later tonight off-campus. There is no shortage of things to do, despite the size of campus or the town. If the amount doesn't/didn't meet your standards. That's regrettable; however, please don't be hyperbolic if the hyperbole is patently untrue.

In 1988, I ran the NYC marathon with my cross country shirt with Juniata on it. When I ran through the 5 boroughs, I heard "Go Juanita alot and I didn't mind it. I did hear about 4 times, "Go Juniata" and I would stop and ask them and they did know where it was located. I was proud to wear my shirt and to finish the marathon. I am glad i went to Juniata!!!

I must agree - the surprise aspect is part of the tradition - part of the fun! Years ago you did not even know what state park you were headed for - now it appears Raystown is the place they use each year.
