Petri

Petri so funny to see old Finnish ski name/mark to be alive.... even it is now US owned. I got my first Karhu cross country skies on 1977.... and last spring I bought my first pair of Karhu telemark skies --> Team 100 (186cm)

DuWayne

DuWayne heard about the sale of Karhu to K2. Hope that does not mean that the Guides and 10th Mountains will not be available anymore. Karhu has always kept it real with their dedication to the Nordic way, hopefully K2 will respect that.

Karhu has been part of K2 since June of '06. This is old news. The Karhu line remains the same.

it was new news to me, glad to hear I will still be able to get the 10th mountains and Guides in the years to come.

Zane Jacobson

Zane Jacobson I heard a nasty rumor that the Karhu freeride telemark series is being discontinued. As a JAK skier since 2003, this pains me. Even if they're rebranded LINEs, I'd rather be on Karhu!

It is sad.... Anyhow if K2 is going to do this, I hope they start making/marketing some more backcountry oriented LINE skis.

I use it on the Ice Coast for harder days and resort. Decent in powder. Makes for fast and fun jump turns.

It’s fall in Seattle, with gray skies and rain pouring down this week… snow won’t be far behind. Checking through the news recently, we caught this newscast from Minnesota reporting on Karhu athlete Dave Watson’s ski tracks on K2 this summer. Here’...

We’ve turned the corner. That crisp feel is in the air, the wet chill early in the morning and evening. Daytime 70s are diving into the mid-30s in the mountains at night, and the frost is getting heavier. Feeling winter on the way? ...
Hans

Hans Bring back the Bushwacker! The most awesome, functional all-terrain skis Karhu/Trak ever produced, the Trak Bushwacker/Karhu Catamount. Nothing like 'em since.

Kenneth Austin Lister

Kenneth Austin Lister hey folks, just found an old wooden pair of karhu cross-country skis in my girlfriends woodshed, they are in good condition with brass 'troll' bindings that were made in norway. there is a model stamp above the bindings that says 'erikoiskilpa' and a 'karhu kiito' signature just above that. the emblem on the nose is a ...skiing polar bear with the words 'urmeilutarpetta' above and 'sportartiklar' below it. the plastic foot pad below the brass binding says 'rottefella'. they will look nice on the wall above the woodstove, but we are just curious as to the vintage and possible value.

thanks and cheers

Former Karhu athlete Josh Madsen (now editor of Telemark Skier Magazine) just posted up a trailer for the new ski movie that he put together over the last season. Titled “The Freeheel Life,” the movie showcases great turns, awesome pow and some of Madsen’s take on freeheel culture and travels. You’...
Karhu Skis

Karhu Skis Big congrats due to Karhu ambassador Dave Watson, who’s on his way back Stateside right now after putting in turns from the Bottleneck on K2 down to Camp 3, and from Camp 2 down to Advanced Base Camp. We’re extremely excited and glad to have Dave back safely from such an incredible feat.
