Kasha is a Rap artist from Charlton, London and part of a production team called Vivid Imagery. Kasha's delicately fierce rap style has been likened to the lyrical intensity of Tupac but with all the sparkle of Frank Sinatra. Kasha’s “unorthodox and “inspirational” flow has been described as a breath of freshest air for Hip Hop and he has been labelled ‘the strongest lyricist in the UK’ by Kiss100, "set to explode" by Hip Hop Connection and a "star in the making" by Richard Blackwood. Kasha’s music tells serious stories of his surroundings, the problems in the world and his dreams but all it’s thrown together in a charming, interesting and often crazy way. Kasha’s Hip Hop is curiously very melody driven and often finds itself throwing out the rule book. This is international Hip Hop but with all the diverse magic of the independent UK sound.
On April 6th 2009 Kasha released his debut album called ‘The Oracle’, which was designed to bring back the essence and sparkle of the early 90’s Hip Hop but with an edgy 21st century quality and perspective. The Oracle filled up a huge void in the Contemporary Hip Hop genre typically dominated by Dance and Electro styles. The Oracle opens up the retro sound to a new generation of ears and cultures looking for wisdom, revelation and cool laid back vibes. It has been described as “Inspirational” by Hip Hop Connection. Including a personal feature from Frank Harper of Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels.
Kasha is a patron to several charities, a few of which tackles the problem of knife and gun crime, and he will be releasing a video single entitled ‘You Have A Choice’, which is officially backed by the MET Police. Kasha has already headlined this track at the NEC, The Royal festival hall, Arsenal’s Stadium, The Roundhouse, Ministry of Sound and the O2 Academy. Kasha is about to embark on a “Music Against Knives” tour around the UK. To quote Kasha ;
“It’s an honor to be part of what I think is the most important organization for today’s Britain. I have experienced first hand the spoils of youth violence and I can’t express enough the pain and repercussions it creates This is a great opportunity for me to teach and hopefully inspire our world’s new generation”
Kasha is ambitious and he has many projects in the pipeline; the 2nd Album will be coming next year, several music videos are in production, he is working with some alternative bands, he has some club tracks in the works and he is starring in a film drama that’s currently in production. Kasha is a natural born performer who lives and breathes music, just give Kasha a stage and he will give you a show, anything is possible, he adapts to his environment and makes full use of his surroundings, think the A-Team but on a musical level.
Last year Kasha remixed Estelle’s International Hit American boy into a version called American Girl, the track was only released as a bit of fun to his fans and a few dj’s but the track soon found itself playing on several commercial radio stations and clocking up over 100000 plays across the internet. Kasha is also sponsored by the American trainer company Kashi Kicks.
