As a former history grad student and descendent of a ton of colonial types crawling all over MA and New England in the 1620s and up, this book grabbed my interest in a second! It does have a feel of Ulrich's book, but I just truly savored every bit! I totally neglected my family for two days to just read and enjoy. Tha...nks so much!
It made me feel like I was reaching back into time and encountering what was going on with my ancestors. I also loved the references to how New Englanders speak; interesting, since my father says "we're all set" and his family is from the midwest and overseas.
Just an enjoyable read on so many levels! Congrats! You made it through grad school! Now write more fiction to escape the boring drudgery! :)Read More
