David SINCLAIR made national headlines in April 2004 when its stations that were affiliated with the ABC network refused to air a "Nightline" broadcast featuring then-anchor Ted Koppel reading the names of U.S. service members who had died in Iraq.

David unfairsinclair.com find out the truth!!

David 11 Days and counting!!!!

Kent This just in... Sinclair SUCKS! Mediacom ROCKS! Good by KGAN and FOX 28, I will not miss you. Looks like things are not getting any better for you guys. Who is "On' your side any way? Any one?

David As I take a minute away from the football game on one of the not so popular channels (according to SINCLAIR) I turn the channel to FOX to see what I will be missing once they are gone and WOW what great programming....I belive the show was called SLIM6 an infomercial...Really ??? SINCLAIR wants another quarter of a mil...l...ion dollars per month so we can watch this crap?????

David
Even the satellite providers, who would appear to benefit once again, are siding with Mediacom.
DIRECTV Inc., DISH Network, and Insight Communications told the Federal Communications Commission in a brief filed this week they are concerned that Sinclair is negotiating both for KGAN-CBS 2, which it owns, and KFXA-FOX 28, which it operates under a management agreement

Kent
Sinclair
Broadcast Group SUCKS!!! They are only using the views as pawns to get
more $$$ To bad they can't wait till after the Orange and Super Bowl to
remove the broadcast from Mediacom!!! If you advertise on KGAN, FOX 28
or CBS to bad, I will not be watching any more. They are the boy who
called "wolf" to many ...times
now...! I am tired of Sinclair doing this every 3 years! I think CBS and
FOX should tell Sinclair to stop it or lose the right to broadcast CBS
and FOX!

Kent I am NOT A fan of KGAN and Sinclair ! It's all about $$$$ You guys could wait till after the Super bowl to remove your feed from Mediacom! Don't use us as pawns!!!

David David Deniston Smith, president and chief executive officer of Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc., was charged with committing an unnatural and perverted sex act in a company-owned Mercedes. He was arrested in an undercover sting a Read and St. Paul streets, a downtown corner frequented by prostitutes.

David Revenues from retransmission consent agreements were $28.0 million in the third quarter 2009 as compared to $17.9 million in the third quarter 2008. Local advertising revenues were down 13.9% in the third quarter 2009 while national advertising revenues were down 26.7% versus the third quarter 2008. This info I got fro...m the SINCLAIR web site. It looks to me like there already have an increase of $10.1 MILLION dollars over last year with retransmission fees and they now want more! But it also looks like advertising is down. Maybe they should focus their energy on trying to increase sale instead of putting a strangle hold on its own customers!!!!!

David SINCLAIR made national headlines in April 2004 when its stations that were affiliated with the ABC network refused to air a "Nightline" broadcast featuring then-anchor Ted Koppel reading the names of U.S. service members who had died in Iraq.

David I saw a report on line that SINCLAIR may be close to bankrupcy. If this is true then are they really asking Iowans to bail them out????If Sinclair get the 50 cent per customer that they are asking for (which would add up to over $200,000 per month) where will that money be used? Will it go to one of there failing NBC st...ations on the east coast or a failing ABC station in the south or a FOX station on the west coast???? SINCLAIR ask their loyal customers to take action againt their cable company, but where is the loyality with SINCLAIR?? DO you loyal customers know that SINCLAIR owns NBC stations and ABC stations??

David Again I ask where are SINCLAIRS loyalties?? And with these actions how can any local advertiser be loyal to KGAN when they might lose one third of their customers? And if we all give in and drop Mediacom how many of those employees will this affect?? Local job loss is not a good thing anyway you look at it. And as loya...l KGAN viewers we don't want these actions by SINCLAIR to affect the good people at the station. In the long run SINCLAIR'S actions will hurt hard working people, many local companies, and viewers across the state of IOWA!! If one person loses a job over this it's to many!!

David Jonh made a great point!!! This is not about anyone that works at KGAN. It ia all about the parent company Sinclair!!I am wondering though how many people at KGAN will this affect or as employes are you not allowed to be a mediacom customer???? It is too bad that the same news segment is put out everyday...would love t...o know what the local KGAN employes really think about all this.
