I so totally agree with that... even though our kids will try to convince us otherwise!! We need to remember "their" job is to grow us as parents!

Kidlutions: Solutions for Kids When my oldest son was in Kindergarten (he is now a freshman in High School)...his teacher had ONE classroom rule. It works for Kindergarteners...and it should work for us, too. Here the RULE:
"Never hurt anyone on the INSIDE or the OUTSIDE." Simple genius!

JL...I know...so simple and easy to remember, but hard for us mere humans to put into effect sometimes.

KRM..it SHOULD always be the rule...I agree!

Gilda Horgan

Gilda Horgan I'd love to get your feedback on the children's book about my son, Tyler, recently mentioned on Autism News. Inspired by Tyler's success finding his words, "Tyler's Magic Word Box" is a story about the Magic teachers and specialists perform for our challenged kids. Please share your thoughts on my blog or facebook page "words 4 autism"

Happy Halloween, all! Okay, here's an idea I've been wanting to do all month, and I'm opening it up to you. When I worked as a school social worker, one of the activities we did with the young students in the month of October was.... SAY "BOO" TO BAD HABITS...

13 year old says boo to a bad attitude and 13 year old mom says boo to not listening to the 13 year old. It's so hard to stop and REALLY listen.

Kidlutions: Solutions for Kids Some fun Halloween stuff for kids ages 3+ at PBS Kids. Coloring pages, games and more! Check it out. Also, be SAFE. Kids are more than 4x likely to be injured in an accident on Halloween night than ANY other night. Supervise closely, as I know you do!

Kidlutions: Solutions for Kids Are you ever concerned about commercialism and marketing that targets children. If you've never thought about it, you might want to start. You can start discussing commercials and advertisements with your children by age 3 or 4. They can understand from an early age that things are not always as they appear on TV. I did it with my own kids. Try it with yours.
