KPCC Hello from Sharon McNary in the KPCC newsroom. A new study out today from pedestrian safety advocates Los Angeles Walks says more than one of every four traffic deaths in the LA-Long Beach-Santa Ana metro area is a pedestrian. Do you have a walking safety story to share with our reporters? Click the link to tell us what happened to you or a loved one.

Have you ever been hit by a car, truck, bus or bike while walking in Southern California? Have you ever hit a pedestrian with your vehicle? What happened? What, if anything changed at the site of your collision to improve safety there?

I tried using the form, but again it has a flaw in it. It won't accept "submit" button's command...even though I filled out everything.

Hmmm. You're right, your response didn't come through. I just filled it out myself and the form went through okay. There's often a very slight delay before it wings its way to our newsroom via e-mail. I'd like to hear your experience, so feel free to e-mail me directly at publicinsight@kpcc.org Thanks very much, Sharon

The distances are so great, it's difficult to walk past the corner store. The heat in summer makes it a difficult experience.

L.A. is relatively safe to walk. Look before you cross the street and be aware of your surroundings. No big city is perfect. We can't expect to be able to walk in the entire city but there are so many neighborhoods here were we can walk !! Every city has safe and unsafe areas we need to be aware of that.
