Lootas (meaning Wave Eater ), a 15-metre war canoe carved from a single cedar log in 1986 by renowned Haida artist Bill Reid along with several Haida carvers, will be the alternative mode of transportation used in Skidegate located near Graham Island in the archipelago.

Langara Island Lodge Chum salmon are spawning now in the suburbs of Vancouver. Check out this great video of Scott Creek in Port Moody. Their young should be swimming by Langara Island around 2012-13.

A strong SE wind has restricted us to fishing along the Graham Island shoreline today, but guests have been finding salmon in most of these areas. Chanal Reef, Bruin Bay and Boulder Point have all been productive on the ebb tide...

Another good week of fishing, as the salmon keep rolling in to feed in areas all around the island...
