Tammy Lehman Evans Lehman is my maiden name so I thought this is just awesome! thanks for carrying items made in the USA

There is a big sign in the entrance of our Kidron store with a picture of my dad. It says, in part, “We believe in offering products made in the United States wherever possible. When we offer imported items, we choose the best quality we can find.” This is not just something we say to [

I appreciate you folks carrying items made in the USA. If we are ever going to turn this economy around, we are going to need to make quality things again here instead of so much in China these days.

Lehman's is an important store for me. They specialize in non-electric items, and we have no electricity. Besides, if you've ever seen truly hand crafted amish items, there's just nothing else out there that compares!

Robyn Lehmann I've been down twice now, and I still love it! I could spend hours just walking around and looking at everything!

Galen Lehman Lehman's is open July 4! Stop in and see us!

Mona Beth Wagner I love Lehman's!! I'm so glad you guys are still around! I wish I lived closer to you. Now I am looking forward to the holiday to be over so I can order my "wish book" :). I wish Your store had other locations, particularly in my "neck of the woods"!!

Have you ever wondered who, in today’s modern world, creates the products from yesteryear? This is your chance to find out. We found talented, creative artisans located within a few miles of our store, who are eager to share their wares with you...

At Lehman’s, we’ve been hearing local folks gossip about how the Indiana Amish have been hurt by the economy. This morning, an article in the Wall Street Journal confirmed our fears...

that was a verry good story, and if any one chooses to read beyond the post..... a good lesson:)

Their whole lifestyle has always been one of "back to roots/basics". They're probably way better off than other Americans who couldn't survive if they didn't have all the luxuries they're used to. Amish are pretty self-sufficient, but some of them rely on the "English" to purchase things that they build or grow, for cash to buy necessities that they can't make. Some of their cash may be low, but they don't need the kind of money that we do.

Galen Lehman We were stunned earlier this year to hear the devastating effect of the economy on the Amish community in northern Indiana. This morning, the story broke onto the national scene with an article in the Wall Street Journal. See my blog posting at http://countrylife.lehmans.com for more details.

So you're in Amish country, looking for something fun to do. Here are some of the great things that I enjoyed when I visited Wayne and Holmes County recently.

Lehman's has several things going on this weekend at the store. Gardening tips, flea market, and area 4th of July activities. Come on in and spend your weekend with us!

The images above are to whet your appetite for the upcoming Local Artisan’s Festival at Lehman’sJuly 11th...

Dotun Morgan You guys at Lehman are just great, nice stuff to have and sometime out of this world too. how come you guys aren't thinking of reworking the non electric cloth iron maybe to use kerosene or something . will help a lot of us who are still in the stone ages

Good arable farmland is disappearing. All you have to do is look at the suburban sprawl that has gobbled up all the farmland around every major city in America to know that this is true. But, it’s not just an American problem. It’s a worldwide problem...

I heard on the radio the other day that there is also the problem of certain varieties of GM crops that are designed to be sterile (to encourage the repurchase of seeds every year as opposed to the practice of reserving some harvest for the next planting season) and have been found to "infect" similar, non-GM crops up to 30 miles away in some cases. Seems like a dangerous practice to me.

Nearly every adult in America is capable of learning to grow their own food & living off the land. It's a matter of choice. Every inch of lawn COULD be food space. It may very well be a necessity if the economy gets any worse. I can't see it improving at all with all the new taxes that are being implemented! Average families can't pay those taxes and buy pre-packaged food! It's very rewarding to be self-reliant.

I love the fact that you have the low tech on the High tech...especially since I don't live close to your store....

Sandra at 2:25pm June 23
your business is a life-saver! never stop doing what you do so well with well-crafted products and caring human touch.

Everybody these day seems to think that “everything is easier on the internet”. Some things are. But not everything. The internet is great for gathering people of similar interests but living miles apart into “communities” of similar interest. We’ve tried to do this with this site...

I thought I would share with you some photos of recent Ohio Arts and Crafts Guild demos taking place at Lehman’s in the Buggy Barn...

Polly I hope there will always be companies like Lehman's! Low-tech/no-tech makes for a much saner way of living!

C.a. Coleman I'm a huge fan of your store and my brother Chip works for you also. In a few weeks I will be coming from virginia to visit your store and take a few things home with me! Wish there was one in VA!

Paul Huckett Like countless thousands of others I love and admire what Lehman's have created --the best of the past with an eye to a sustainable future !

Geoffrey Zeamer glad to see them evolve, i still need basics
