Hayley http://www.gopetition.co.uk/petitions/reveal-the-tax-status-of-lord-ashcroft.html

The Conservative Party - including David Cameron - has repeatedly refused to reveal the tax status of its deputy chairman, Lord Ashrcoft, who has funded the party for almost three decades.

This has continued even after Lord Ashcroft promis...ed to return to the UK from his home in Belize and pay UK income tax by the end of 2000, when he was made a peer.

Sign the petition to get them talking!

mmm... i definitely disagree with the class B categorisation, i think it's 100% politics and no science. but i do get your point, it's just that alcohol has permanent bad effects on an (arguably) greater level. i think perhaps cannabis legalisation would be a mistake, but making it class B while say, ketamin remains class C is just encouraging ... See Morepeople to use ketamin, or to use the many various amphetamines that are class B. i think above all what drug laws need is a firm basis in science, and for that to happen we need science to shape public opinion. the government's sacking of david nutt was pure madness.
nonetheless, just because cannabis rarely causes deaths, i know that we can't ignore the other dangers. The question is whether locking people up for possession or even small scale dealing of cannabis is a wise idea.

i know the science isn't always very exciting, and it's tempting to argue about what's desirable for us instead of what's happening, but the weight of evidence does support global warming. The idiocy of people at the IPCC doesn't change that: the rate of global warming in causing specific events may be exaggerated by some scientists, but the basic ... See Morescience is good. To those who point towards a 'medieval warm spell', yes there may have been times at which the Earth was warmer than it is today, February 9th 2010, but wait till the effects induced by particularly rapidly rising CO2 levels since 1970 fully kick in.

I think part of the problem is people confuse the politics of climate change with the science behind it. I never thought i'd say this, but what we need are some of the apolitical, amoral scientists that have caused our world so much misery: somebody who doesn't care about climate change and so can't be suspected of ulterior motives when they present their compelling data.

feel free to criticise my science above; it isn't perfect, im no ecologist. But i am confident that i've given the basic outline of the theory of man-made climate change.
