In conjunction with the publishing seminars at Stockholm University and the University of Helsinki, the schools' libraries hosted workshops on how to market the university library. These workshops were preceded by the presentation "Connecting wth Young Researchers" given by Elsevier Account Development Manager Chris Ja...mes, who's based in Amsterdam. Chris' talk draws from the 2008 book "A Short-cut to Marketing the Library" by Zuzana Helinsky. Fall 2009 publishing seminars organized by Elsevier helped get needed information out to the Nordic scientific community. The kick-off of the publishing seminars took place in October in Stockholm and Helsinki. The seminar in Stockholm on October 8 attracted about 70 participants, most of them in an early stage of thei...r scientific career. The interest at the University of Helsinki was even more overwhelming with more than 150 people attending the seminar on October 20. This university is the largest higher-education institute in Finland and responsible for a large share of the Finnish scientific publications.
