Ummm, Ontario is in Canada. What exactly does their bill of rights say about freedom of speech? Is it like the US or not? I didn't study Canadian government in school, just the US. (When I was in school Canada was where draft dodgers went). This is wrong, traumatizing to the student, but maybe it got more attention this way. Hopefully the student's studies didn't suffer from not being in the classroom that day.

Isn't part of the whole education process about intellectually discussing and debating issues? Avoiding the truth of what abortion is not education, but continuing ignorance. Discussing issues, even old ones that people view as settled, are how laws change, technology develops, and our understanding of science grows. Humiluating a teenager for trying to bring thought into the classroom is not the way to develop character or self esteem
