My Locally Grown blogging buddy Griff Wigley notified me that my character was being defamed in the first couple of comments on this Northfield News article. (“Defamation of character” is the communication of false information stated as a fact which brings harm to an individual or an entity.)

    • Betsey Buckheit Excellent description of the process, Tracy. I don't know that the anonymous commenter wishes to be enlightened, but if he/she did, this would help a great deal. Keep up the good work!

    • Philip Poyner Would it be fair if I were to say we (the city) got <insert appropriate painful word of your choice> by ACP? At first read it sure sounds like they provided a shoddy product...or at least one that did not meet the intent of the SOW.

Looks like some of the brick paver crosswalks downtown are need of sand fill after recent heavy rains. Lots of gaps in lots of pavers. And some pavers are cracking.

Bloomberg Businessweek ran a special report a month ago titled What’s Your College Degree Worth? Less than you think. Exclusive new research suggests most students would be better off never setting foot in a classroom. (See info on Carleton’s #1 ranking (St. Olaf runner-up) in MN: What’s Your Colleg...

                  • Marsha Kitchel Hmmm, looks like most of the activity is on Bridge Square; please don't forget us starving artists "below level."

                  • Locally Grown Northfield Marsha, I'll try to get more photos "below level" next time. But I think the food/farmer's market vendors on the Sesqui Plaza are busier because of local folks, whereas the artists below on Riverwalk depend more on out-of-towners. Is that your perception? - Griff

                  • Marsha Kitchel Nope, the majority hail from Northfield. I think they have a harder time finding us, or even realizing there's more to see down below. We've got great signage, but it's difficult when half of the party can't be seen.
