Lunch Money

Lunch Money If I had to have a philosophy, this would be it. This song has been in my head today (I tend to reference this SNL moment a lot). Looking up the old clip, it's a little sad with Chris Farley and Phil Hartman but still fun (and inspiring?).

Nice clip. "You can't change horses midstream in a war against the bats" has always resonated with me, but it's just too clunky to insert into everyday conversation.

Lunch Money Sending big grins to Kathy O'Connell of WXPN's Kids Corner in Philadelphia for including us in the Best of 2009 list she made for NPR! Cheers to that!

This year has seen a lot of "quirky" kids' music, wherein the sweet-voiced folkies of the past were replaced by growling rocker moms and clear, intimate harmonies. The quality was high this year, with albums rooted in reggae, electronica, folk and rock aimed at young ears.

Lunch Money We are happy to announce that Brandon Reese will be back to illustrate our upcoming CD. Early chats with Brandon are already indicating donuts, happy/sad feelings of friendship and more donuts. Can't wait to see what it will all look like!

Not only do I like this, I'm thinking of starting one of those useless FB petitions along the lines of, "Please add 'Love' button."

Also, donuts=profit!

Lunch Money Hey everybody! Lunch Money was feeling the love this weekend when Dizzy was voted the #2 children's CD of the year by the judges of the annual Fids and Kamily Awards. The #1 spot went to They Might Be Giants and the #3 spot went to Recess Monkey, a terrifically fun band from Seattle. We're excited and encouraged as we ...are putting the finishing touches on next year's album!

So, you're thinking, lots of great music there, but where, oh where, can I buy it?Well, our friend Bryan (also a judge) at The Pokey Pup is running a special on all of 'em (including the honorable mentions)!Support a great independent retailer who really cares about kids' music. Head on over there.

Lunch Money There has been a whirring sound in my head for months - reminiscent of when I used to take my poor Chevette on the interstate. And it finally shifted gears! Hurray!

Whirring sounds for *months*? Your 'head' finally shifted gears? Are you talking about head between your ears? I can usually rely on the ol' foil helmet, they block the 'transmissions' pretty good, except for the occasional message about donuts.

Wow - they've got all three kinds of Lunch Money in one handy, confusing spot. And clicking that song list with young ones nearby is risky (in other words, "Package of Power" and "I'm a Freak" are NOT our songs.
