Beth Burns Lutherans (and everyone) in the New York area are invited to a HYMN FESTIVAL this Saturday, January 30 at 6pm at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church, 619 Lexington Ave @ 54th. A suggested free will offering of $20 per person will benefit Lutheran Music Program, the national organization which produces the annual Lutheran Sum...mer Music Academy & Festival. Bishop Robert Alan Rimbo of the Metro NY Synod of the ELCA and internationally-renowned organist Martin Jean (Director of the Yale Institute for Sacred Music) will lead the event. LSM students and alumni will perform, as will the choir of St. Peter's Church under the direction of Thomas Schmidt. Schmidt, Rimbo and Jean are all former faculty/staff at Lutheran Summer Music.
