November 24th marks 20 years since the House of Commons unanimously voted to eliminate child poverty. It is time to act on this promise and eliminate child poverty.
We will be gathering at the Centennial Flame on Parliment Hill at 9am to show o...ur support and raise awareness. PLEASE JOIN US!! We need to let our govenments know that we no longer want our children living in poverty.
We will be be hearing from indivduals who were born or have lived or experienced poverty and hear them speak out against it.
If you are interested in being one of these people, and were born in or around 1989, we would love to hear your story.

Make Poverty History Canada Very little progress was made at the G8 meeting in L'aqila, Italy in July, 2009. This is partly because the host country, Italy, wasn't particularly interested in fighting poverty. This is a reminder of how important it is for Canadians to push our government, who is hosting the G8 in 2010, to work fo rsolutions to poverty.

On Monday, July 06 at noon, please help us deliver our G8 petitions to Prime Minister Stephen Harper in Ottawa to ensure that he receives our messages and takes them with him to the G8 in Italy from July 8 to 10. Let’s ensure that Prime Minister Harper truly acts as our representative at the G8!
We will meet at the cor...ner of Elgin and Wellington in Ottawa, across from the War Memorial, and in front of Prime Minister Harper’s office (at the back door).
