Here's a wee bit of my background (including a journey of my personal life too!)...

I'm an eternal optimist, love life, love people and live with PASSION!!!

I was born in Pickering, Ontario, Canada... to full-blood Scottish parents!

When I was 12, my family and I moved to Edinburgh, Scotland... where I lived for the next 20 years.

In 1999, out of the blue, I got an invitation to come to San Diego, California. It was one of those defining moments! I *knew* a whole new life and career was waiting for me in the land of Opportunity!

My career up 'til that point was in sales and computer training, particularly for the legal professions. Since I set foot in the US, I've been an entrepreneur. For many years I ran a busy practice as a Relationship Coach, but I'm also an Internet Marketer. I pursued these two parallel tracks until, in early 2007, I got invited to beta test a Facebook application... and suddenly my two tracks merged and became one! My skills with and love of people and technology = social media! :)

I immediately fell in love with Facebook - though I'm a natural networker and hadn't fully appreciated why I would want to use an internet site to enhance my networking, there was something really magical about Facebook. I quickly immersed myself into the world of social media, including Twitter and began showing my peers and clients how to tap the power of these rapidly growing social networks.

In early 2008, FastCompany.com approached me for a write up; they dubbed me as "the Pied Piper of the Online World" - a rather fun label! :)

My business has exploded in the past year or so and I travel extensively to speak at conferences on the power of using social media in your business, particularly Facebook and Twitter.

I've had the great pleasure to speak at events by Ali Brown, Yanik Silver, James Malinchak, Adam Urbanski, Mike Lathigee's InvestFest, Fabienne Fredrickson and more. I've been blessed to share the stage with Tony Robbins, Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh, Bill Glazer from the Glazer-Kennedy Inner Circle, Paula Abdul and many more.
