Artist Statement

I was raised in a small town in Georgia's mid state and spent the past decade living in the Metro Atlanta area. While I have always enjoyed taking photos, if you had told me that I would end up so passionate about this art form or so engaged in it, I would not have believed you.

It was my first exposure to traveling outside of the states that fanned the flames. As I got more feedback from the photos I shared with friends and family, I began to work harder and harder to make my photos truly special.  In a way, I was constantly competing with myself to return with something better.

I went on to learn the basics of photography in a class room in the evenings. Ultimately, however, it has been and continues to be a process of trying new things to see what works and what doesn't.  I firmly believe that any endeavor in art is ultimately a process of trial and error while seeking your own voice.

For me, there's something truly special about catching a single moment of time with the snap of the shutter. And although travel photos will always have a special place in my heart, I have expanded and work to find moments that people will connect with anywhere I can find them.  It may mean wandering lonesome back roads in search of fading Americana or capturing the beauty of busy city streets, but I love looking for those shots that people will respond to when they see them.

While I have been described as a jack of all trades, it's ultimately photography that I have most wanted to master and I hope that my viewers will enjoy the lonesome roads, the towering skyscrapers, the thousand year old pyramids and all that comes in between in my growing portfolio
