just because something changes becomes new and improved does not mean every Church changes or wants to change. What happened to "If it isn't broke don't fix it" ?

Kelly Marty Mikles, where have you been all of my life? I have, alas, discovered your weekly videos, and I, too, have some questions to pose...

Q: Do you have spiritual valleys? If so how do you deal with them?

i haven't had the opportunity to post any new videos, so i thought i'd just answer your question here...

i certainly DO go through spiritual valleys. i deal with them by surrounding myself with amazingly loving people, such as my wife, and other close friends... i try not to be too proud to ask them to pray for me. i also find a lot of comfort, just as He promised, in reading God's word. it never fails, whenever i read something like psalm 23 ("your rod and staff comfort me..."), i will inevitably come back around to finding reassurance that this season is only just a season, and that seasons are meant to change.

i'd love to say that i go straight to the Lord when i find myself in valleys, but in all honesty, i'm still working on that. i'd love to say that i pray a lot when these things happen, but i'm still working on that, too. it doesn't take long, though, for me to realize that i probably wouldn't agonize nearly as much if i had first turned to God. i'm on that journey continually, and i'm still learning these things. ... See More

here's one thing i have learned: my valleys are guaranteed. Jesus tells us in John 16:33, "... in this world, you WILL have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." as believers, we're not exempt from trials and valleys. we just have to learn that we have help when we are called to go through them. often times, it's because i'm so consumed in work, music, and life in general, that i don't recognize that my help is right here with me all along. i pray every day that i wouldn't take on so much that would cause me to be distracted from the guiding hand and voice of Jesus.

i hope this helps. let me know your thoughts, please.

be blessed!
