Denise

Denise Hi All, just found this group via the website. My daughter is half way through Alpha and we seem to be really getting into the swing of it all and will probably be finished by Christmas. Is there anyone out there in the UK who no longer need there Beta pack and willing to sell it? I hope that it is ok to ask this here?!
Denise.

Melanie Lambert McMullen

Melanie Lambert McMullen Recently I was flipping the channels on the television and stopped on "The Dr Phil Show" for a few minutes. My 4 year old wandered into the room and asked with a surprised tone, "What is Mr Demme doing on TV Mommy?" After I contained my laughter I told him that it was not Mr. Demme, but Mr Demme should be on TV for ...everybody to see. My son quickly agreed!

If the student is not really comfortable with concepts taught at the end of Advanced (like negative numbers), you might want to consider Pre-Algebra. The placement tests will help you decide.

For Carbon's math practice, we use the Math U See program, and I really like it. We've been taking our time moving through the primer, as I believe in mastery of math facts and I don't see any reason to ...

My oldest daughter attends public school (not by my choice) and she hates math, she comes home crying over her homework. This summer we got her MUS to get her caught up to what the ps is trying to teach and when she is struggling with her homework, we pull the MUS corresponding video and she begs to do more than one lesson. She loves MUS (and so do we!) and it is helping her get through ps math even though she hates it!!! Thank you so much!!!

Alicia Fox Stunkel

Alicia Fox Stunkel I posted this on my wall & thought I would post it here as well...This morning my son got all of the answers right on his review sheet. This was a kid who was really struggling in math when we pulled him out of private school 3 yrs ago. Now he excels in math. I give all the credit to Steve Demme and MUS. Thank you MUS for what you have done for our family!

Susann Erdman-Gehring Was wondering if anyone has thought about making an apple iphone app. for Math-U-See? We use our phone a lot and use the math apps, but my son wants to see the blocks and when we are out it is hard to do. Just an idea!:)

We started back home schooling after a little break, got out the MUS books and Master 10 asks: "where are the blocks?" Best bit of the whole deal I think.

Kelly 'Alumbaugh' Konrad

Kelly 'Alumbaugh' Konrad My son got stuck on +2 in public school last year so, of course, when they moved right on to +3, +4 and so on, he was totally lost and so was his self-esteem. We started homeschooling this summer and began using the Alpha book. When we came to +2 the wall was still up. After calling the 800 number on the inside of m...y book, playing as many games as I could think of, printing several worksheets from the worksheet generator, and offering a special new toy as an incentive, the wall is finally down!!! We were on +9 for less than a week and he totally got it! I almost cried when he said "Math was hard at school, but it's not hard here at home with you." He now knows 80 of the 100 math facts. Math U See = Math Success!!!
