This will be a major thorn in the side of Microsoft if 7 doesn't run well on net books. Really whenever I sit at a Starbucks or a Panera I see people just using netbooks to write e-mails or surf facebook or some website. This appears to do all of that just fine.

this is a major disappointment. not even sure what market they're targeting. Surely not netbooks. maybe kiosks. Seriously. This OS (if it can be called that) is useless if you don't have internet access. Computer suddenly becomes a brick. A nice flashy brick that requires web authentication to log on, stores all your files online, and doesn't allow installing other apps. Google Chrome OS will be the black sheep of the Linux family that will be disowned and shunned.

I generally find Windows easier to fix. There are a lot more people both online and off to ask questions of. I do wonder if windows didn't come pre-installed on most machines what would happen.
