Mayor A C Wharton The cold and wet weather has created more potholes in our city's streets. We are aware of the problem and we're working to repair them as fast as we can. If you hit a pothole and believe the city is liable, please call the City Attorney's claims office at 901-636-6527 and file a claim.

Thank u for acknowledging that issue. I ran across (but managed to dodge) several of them in clusters about a half mile long on the expressway a few days ago. It was pretty scary.

Mayor A C Wharton This morning, I met with Mayor Jim Schmitt of Green Bay, Wisconsin to discuss the potential sale and relocation of the Zippin Pippin roller coaster. While both of us have a number of due diligence steps left to take, the conversation was tremendously encouraging. By all accounts, Bay Beach Amusement Park in Green Bay ...sounds like it would be a wonderful new home for the Pippin!

YEP-AND WHAT ABOUT THE POOR MOTHER DOG WHO RECENTLY HAD PUPPIES IN THE HALL?You need to pay enough people who CARE about animals. Working at an animal shelter does not create empathy for people who have ZERO empathy

Thank You, Thank You Mayor for being pro active about this issue. It is a crime to abuse animals in this country..and if you do a crime you have to do the time!! I don't understand why people in this country who try to help animals are always told "yeah, but there are homeless people" of coarse there are homeless people in this country..and just ... See Morebecause I care about defenseless animals being starved to death in a cage by people making GOOD money to help them, doesn't mean I don't HELP HOMELESS people or donate to the organizations that help them.

Maybe if the Salvation Army, but homeless people in cages and starved them to death, we would have a more outspoken public about this issue. God Bless them all!!!

Mayor A C Wharton Looking forward to announcing our new Memphis Animal Shelter administrator later today. Clearly a very important job at a facility which means a lot to many Memphians. We've taken our time making our selection because we wanted to find the BEST person for the job - and we have.

Mayor A C Wharton A short piece about the Governing Magazine conference I spoke at yesterday. Cities and counties MUST work together if we are to survive the current economic conditions affecting us both.

I agree with Ms. Steele. I am a Paralegal finishing my MBA and I have not been able to find a job as well. Should we both relocate?

Mayor A C Wharton Congratulations to the Tuohy Family and the makers of "The Blind Side." A great Memphis story, now nominated for Best Picture!

I don't really think I can offer congratulations to Mrs. Tuohy as my respect plummeted when watching her interview with a reporter stating her displeasure over the fact that more interest was shown over the memorial at the animal shelter than her movie. I saw her attitude as petty, selfish and arrogant as it was obvious where her ego lay. Could not both interests have been served ~ the dogs needed help immediately and a voice to aid them.

Dear Mayor.... make as many trips as you need to make ...anywhere you need to go as long as you are dealing with REAL problems and not silly nonsense. Let's get some jobs in here... maybe a little commerce. I'd love for you to find someone to take over payments on the pyramid. How about visiting cities with real school systems that actually turn... See More out graduates that can read and write? I'll cancel my next trip so your carbon debt won't keep you from trying to get resources to fight our infant mortality rate.
Thank you for trying to turn the page on the silliness of the past administration. Good Job, Sir.
