Meethil Momaya With elephants about to be declared a national heritage we can now scratch "I love you Julie" on them!

The Indian Government has decided to declare the elephant to be a national heritage. Which basically means that like the rest of our national heritage, we will now see love-graffiti on the elephant too.

Meethil Momaya How did i do it? Read about the making of one of the largest views of Tso Moriri on my blog.

What you see above is probably the largest view of Tso Moriri – a lake in Ladakh, India. The angle of view of the picture is such that it encompasses the entire long-side of the lake. To emphasize the length of Tso Moriri, the original image is a staggering 125 inches (10 feet) long.

Meethil Momaya Playing with Black and White: Yesterday i stumbled upon an old favourite of mine. An old slide of two Blackbucks sparring in Rajasthans Taal Chappar Wildlife Sanctuary. The slide was scanned a few years ago and the image appeared as a center spread in Hornbill, the quarterly members magazine of BNHS. The original image... is in colour and has an orange hue - the type we associate with evenings in the desert. I wanted to make the image more interesting and a bit more dramatic so i started to convert it into a black and white. After playing around with it for some time this is what i arrived at. At this time, i am satisfied with the outcome but i might want tweak it a bit more later. Have a look.

Meethil Momaya This is a read for all those who are still using their DSLR in AUTO mode.

Gone are the days when people shifted from their SLR camera to a DSLR. Today, people are upgrading their compact digital cameras with entry level DSLRs. Most of them are upgrading only their camera, not themselves. Upgrading a camera is

Meethil Momaya Playing with blacks and whites i am trying to discover a new dimension to our present world which has blinded us with its colour.

Untimely rain in Bandhavgarh presented this surreal landscape which, according to me, looks better devoid of colour.

Meethil Momaya Black and white photography is terribly underrated.

Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution. - AnselAdams
