About ESCAPE THE FATE:
With an uncanny ability to always land on their feet, notorious Vegas rock group Escape the Fate have begun writing and recording with a spectacular new singer and a superstar producer. With John Feldmann (the Used, Story of the Year) lending his talents as both producer and songwriter, and with the addition of singer Craig Mabbit, formerly of Bless the Fall, Escape the Fate are on track to make an even more amazing record than their stellar 2006 debut.

Following the departure of singer Ronnie Radke in early 2008, the band performed a handful of shows with Mabbit, and the personal and creative connection was immediate. A fan of both ETF and Mabbit, Feldmann was the natural choice to produce, and in April, Escape the Fate began recording the follow-up to 2006's Dying Is Your Latest Fashion, which featured the massive hit song "Situations." "People are going to be blown away and definitely surprised when they hear Craig's vocals mixed with Escape's diverse sound," explains bassist Max Green. "This is the next generation of rock." The yet-untitled record is tentatively scheduled for a fall release.

"I'm excited to have the opportunity to continue making music with a group of amazing people," says Mabbit. "I'm loving what's coming out of us in the studio right now and things couldn't be going better. Escape the Fate is taking over the world, so buckle your seatbelts 'cause we're here to stay."

After Radke's dramatic departure, wild speculation spread across the internet regarding the future of Escape the Fate and direction the band would take if they were to continue on. However, fans can breathe a sigh of relief: the turmoil has left the band even more determined and fired up. "We've been through a lot of shit this last year, and we took all that anger, frustration and sadness and molded it into an album with huge rock choruses, in your face riffs and melodies, and drums that will give your parents a heart attack," explains Green. "This new album isn't going to be a hardcore metal album and it's not going to be a soft melodic album, we are who we are, we are Escape the Fate."

Formed in Seattle, Washington in 2001, Minus the Bear was initially formed by guitarist David Knudson, bassist Cory Murchy, and drummer Erin Tate who eventually recruited keyboardist/sequencer, Matt Bayles and vocalist/guitarist Jake Snider. Once in the same room they realized they were on to something special - and the band quickly earned a rabid and rapidly growing fan base ranging from teenagers to middle-aged parents. "I know every band says they can't explain their music, but I really can't say that we sound like one specific thing," Murchy explains. "We don't follow a particular scene or genre and hopefully that shows."

Dweezil Zappa Plays Zappa

After taking more than three years off to study the physical performance and technical compositional techniques of his father, Frank Zappa, Dweezil Zappa began his search to create a combo that could, according to Dweezil, "accurately execute Frank's music in the most authentic way humanly possible." Rather than creating what he called a "circus" of Frank's former bandmates, Dweezil's focus was on providing an avenue for the elder Zappa's music to new generations of listeners. To that end, he personally selected members of the Zappa Plays Zappa septet after an arduous set of auditions. The process typically involved them having to transcribe assorted Zappa pieces and then play their specific parts while accompanied only by Joe Travers (drums) -- the latter having previously worked with Dweezil in his and brother Ahmet Zappa's Z. Travers is also the Zappa Family Trust archivist, which likewise meant he would be intimately familiar with the various distinct eras of Frank's music.

ABOUT GOGOL BORDELLO -
Combining elements of punk, gypsy music, and Brechtian cabaret, Gogo...l Bordello tells the story of New York’s immigrant diaspora through debauchery, humor, and surreal costumes. Leader and singer Eugene Hütz’s taste in music was spun out of black-market tapes of the The Birthday Party and Einstürzende Neubauten in his native Ukraine.

ABOUT (THE) MELVINS -
Hello you magnificent Melvin music loving sons-a-bitches!

First off, to all you naysayers, apology a...ccepted, now don't let it happen again.

We here in the Melvin camp like to pretend the world is a right place. Surprisingly the Melvins are alive and well and not dead so what the hell, right? We have a lot planned for the next year so relax and sit quietly, as far as you know, more will soon be revealed.

Well of course it's 2006 and as usual the seemingly tireless Melvins have yet another brand "new" CD. Big surprise. This time, as a result of their strange work last year in Europe they've recorded a full length Houdini Live record entitled "A Live History of Gluttony and Lust", which is ready for a May release so put down your beer bongs and your crack pipes and get ready to dash out and buy two or three copies...or maybe twenty copies just in case. Amazingly the Melvins recruited the amazing bass master Trevor Dunn best known for his amazing work in the Trevor Dunn trio-convulsant, Mr. Bungle, Fantômas and a whole lot of headache inducing "music" with John Zorn. This is a thoroughly modernized live version of the 1993 "classic" Houdini record along with a few surprises tossed in for shits and giggles. Why not? Remember it's the nuts, it's effortless and it's just like the oil on Arrons beard and God forbid you forget this isn't bullshit, so don't worry.

ABOUT AS I LAY DYING -
As a wise band once pointed out, what happens on the road always comes home. Sure, you can read into the darker side of that sentiment, but if you're talking about the San Diego quintet As I Lay Dying, for whom the road literally has been home since day one, the never-ending trail of unfamiliar cities, stages and faces that comes with touring has only cut a path toward something brighter.
Formed in early 2001 to realize the developing musical vision of ex-Society's Finest guitarist Tim Lambesis, As I Lay Dying first took shape as a trio, with (now-former) guitarist Evan White and drummer Jordan Mancino rounding out the lineup. One month into their lifespan, the group hit the studio to record their first album, Beneath The Encasing Of Ashes, released that June by Pluto Records. As I Lay Dying caught the touring bug shortly afterward, and started what to this day remains a pattern: With each new tour stop came new converts to the group's sound, and as more people caught on, Pluto found a new best-selling release in Beneath The Encasing Of Ashes--which, massive as it was, barely hinted at the material As I Lay Dying still had brewing inside of them.
Released by Pluto in August of 2002, As I Lay Dying's split CD with fellow San Diegans American Tragedy offered the first sign of where the band was headed. Though the chugging breakdowns, growled vocals and dissonant riffs of Ashes were still present in As I Lay Dying's five tracks, a stronger sense of melody undercut the music's darkness, resulting in songs that not only stuck in your head as easily as they tore it off, but that also started to garner serious attention for the band. So, touring as relentlessly as ever behind their latest effort, As I Lay Dying found themselves landing on the radar of several prominent record labels, with Metal Blade ultimately sealing the deal in March of 2003--and the band's Metal Blade debut, Frail Words Collapse, dropping on an unsuspecting public that July.
