ABOUT WE THE KINGS-

"We the Kings are an unapologetically commercial emo-pop band from Bradenton, FL, a smal...l town that doubles as the home base for Tropicana orange juice. Friends since childhood (the band's moniker refers to the name of their junior-high mascot), the foursome -- singer/guitarist Travis Clark, guitarist Hunter Thomsen, his bassist brother Drew Thomsen, and drummer Danny Duncan -- formed the band while attending high school. Under the guidance of manager Bret Disend, the teenaged quartet placed a number of tracks on the social networking site Purevolume in 2007 to build online buzz. Meanwhile, they also pursued a deal with EMI's imprint S-Curve Records, which eventually signed the group.

We the King's self-titled debut album was produced by Sam Hollander and mixed by Lou Giordano, both of whom had done work with some of emo-pop's most marketable acts, and released in October 2007. "Check Yes Juliet" cracked the Pop 100 that Fall, and the group spent much of the following two years on the road, playing shows alongside simpatico bands like The Academy Is and Hey Monday. They also found time to record a second album, with Smile Kid arrived in late 2009." -From allmusic.com

ABOUT MAYDAY PARADE-

Mayday Parade resulted from the merger of two popular Tallahassee local bands, Kid Named Chicago and Defining Moment, which helped the newly minted melodic rock unit amass a quick buzz around its hometown scene upon forming in the mid-2000s. The sextet was comprised of vocalist Derek Sanders, vocalist/guitarist Jason Lancaster, bassist/vocalist Jeremy Lenzo, drummer Jake Bundrick, and guitarists Alex Garcia and Brooks Betts. Playing some dates on the 2005 Warped Tour, along with random shows alongside bands like Armor for Sleep, the Rocket Summer, the Starting Line, and Emery, the band hooked up with Fearless Records in August 2006, releasing its debut EP, Tales Told by Dead Friends, three months later. Lancaster left Mayday Parade in March 2007.

ABOUT SCARY KIDS SCARING KIDS -

While most young, upstart acts launch with a mission in emulating their favorite bands, the member...s of Scary Kids Scaring Kids -- who were juniors in high school when the band formed four years ago -- already had their sights set higher: they wanted to create music that was largely outside of the predictable norm from the onset.
"We wanted to start something new," says drummer Peter Costa. "Something harder, not just your typical fast punk."
It's that quest for originality and innovation that lead the Phoenix-area six-piece through a musical journey. Their latest stop on the route: the band's Immortal Records full-length debut, The City Sleeps In Flames. Of course, the aforementioned journey wasn't a simple stroll. Scary Kids Scaring Kids launched their recording career years earlier, demoing tracks at a local community college with the help of some friends. But the act's real recording experience arrived through the sessions for their first official release, an EP titled After Dark. Working with producer Bob Hoag (The Format, Recover) in nearby Tempe, the time spent in the studio yielded an immeasurable education for the already established unit.

ABOUT TWIZTID -

Prot"g"s of the Insane Clown Posse, the Detroit-area Caucasian rap duo Twiztid based their act on a similarly theatrical, outrageous, makeup-heavy image... and an obsession with serial-killer horror films. Jamie Madrox and the Monoxide Child cast themselves as psychotic axe murderers on their 1998 debut album, Mostasteless, which was reissued with new artwork and extra tracks a year later in the wake of ICP's rise to national notoriety. Twiztid's second album, Freek Show, was released on Halloween 2000 in conjunction with ICP's Bizzar/Bizaar sets; Mirror Mirror followed two years later. The Green Book hit the shelves in 2003 with Man's Myth, Vol. 1 landing in 2005. The duo toured extensively throughout the States in the early 2000s, developing a small cult following throughout the Midwest in particular.

ABOUT ALESANA -
The crowd is still screaming at a sold out show in Anaheim, California as the sweetcore phenomenon known as Alesana exits the stage.

"I don't think I'll ever get used to this," says frontman Dennis Lee as he tips back the last swallow of his water bottle. "Seeing kids go crazy like that thousands of miles away from home reminds me that I have the best job in the world. Oh, and that wearing cowboy boots on stage probably isn't the best idea in the world...but it simply must be done." Crowd response like this is something that the six-piece from Raleigh, North Carolina is quickly becoming accustomed to all over the country and other parts of the world: and this is only the beginning.

ABOUT THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER -
The Black Dahlia Murder immediately established themselves at the forefront of the then-burgeoning U.S. metal scene when they released their full-length Metal Blade debut Unhallowed in June 2003. The release of that critically lauded album, however, was only the beginning of an epic journey that would find this Detroit, Michigan, quintet dealing with personnel issues (founding member drummer Cory Grady was replaced by Zach Gibson) and a nonstop touring itinerary that kept them on the road for nearly two years playing with bands as diverse as The Red Chord, Arch Enemy, Napalm Death and Terror. But those experiences ultimately had a profound affect on their latest Metal Blade release, Miasma. "The road has been what really made Miasma what it is," vocalist Trevor Strnad confesses. "Much of the content here is a direct result of our experience in the band."

ABOUT COPELAND -

American pop standard "You Are My Sunshine" is synonymous with idyllic memories of youth and other feelings of merriment. But Copeland, the Lakeland, Fla.-based, indie alternative trio who've already brought soul-searching tracks like "Control Freak" and "Pin Your Wings," spin their own metaphorical thesis on the classic tune for their fourth studio effort, the aptly-titled You Are My Sunshine.

"Initially, that song is very lovely and when you think of it, it immediately conjures up fine memories of your childhood, but actually it's super creepy in the latter verses of the song. It gets quite dark," says frontman Aaron Marsh. "But that's probably my favorite thing in art and music -- that line between lovely and creepy. A photo of a dandelion in a field would be a lovely image, but a shadow of a person you couldn't see would make it a bit creepier. And with that, all of our records have been very lovely on the whole. When people think of us, they think 'very pretty soft rock,' but we've been slowly growing up and wanting to not just be pretty music. There's another layer there, and for me that's the most interesting line ever."

Colorado-based electro/screamo duo Breathe Carolina formed in 2006 around the talents of Kyle Even and David Schmitt. The Denver group's blend of synth-based beats and melodic screaming first appeared on the public radar in 2007 with the self-released Gossip EP. It was followed in 2008 by the band's first full-length for Rise Records, It's Classy, Not Classic, which featured all of the tracks that appeared on Gossip with six new additional songs. The duo has toured relentlessly, sharing the stage with contemporaries such as the Secret Handshake, Millionaires, and Brokencyde.

ABOUT BOWLING FOR SOUP -
GET HAPPY!!!!!!

Writing one perfect album is hard enough. But nine? Come on! Who else in the history of recorded sound has even dared reach such a milestone? Neil Young? Bob Dylan? Herb Alpert? Tiny Tim? Throw out greatest-hits packages, and you've got maybe HALF a decent album among them! No, the only band to have hit the nine-album mark without so much as a bum note is Denton, Texas' Bowling for Soup. And there's no debating those stats, so don't even try!

Consistent, honest and forthright about everything from life to music, M...atthew Good is one of few Canadian musicians that requires no introduction.

In 2007, that candidness revealed itself as Hospital Music, an album dedicated to the ordeal Good was thrust into when dealing with bipolarity. Using the creativity of music to work through the revelation and realism of that diagnosis, Good and his followers formed an unbreakable bond based on what proved to be one of his most impeccable albums. Hospital Music ventured beyond Canadian borders, finding lifelong, passionate fans across North America thanks to Good's genuine account of a personal journey battling mental illness to
find balance and happiness.

In 2009, Good's sincerity finds him in an enviable place: alive, feeling fine and more inspired than ever before. His personal anguish and frustrations dealt with, Good now tackles new territory: the outside world. He has dubbed this journey "Vancouver", a dedication to and
examination of his experiences living in the world-renowned city for the better part of his life; the land responsible for forming many of his personal reflections and opinions on the world.
Good broaches all spectrums of that home, delving into the individual, economic, and social impact Vancouver's many facets incite. From straightforward rock to the infusion of strings
which offer a lushness and bold atmosphere to the album, "Vancouver" offers fans the familiarity of Good's inherent style yet accents and bolsters his need for diversity and advancement.

On "The Vancouver National Anthem," Good has many observations about the
contradictions of what's going on within the city, a track boasting/solidifying the union of Good and artist Pete Yorn. Becoming fast friends by way of mutual admiration, there was no doubt that Yorn was compelled to document their bond through recording together.

As with the bulk of Good's catalogue, Vancouver was recorded at The Warehouse Studio, a comfortable, familiar working environment Good could almost call his personal space at this point in time. Joined by the majority of his live band-journeymen and session players who
have truly connected with Good's own vision and direction-"Vancouver" is easily Good's most coherent, enduring, and indelibly appreciable work to date.
