well. again if you have no children you deffinatly should not be applying for food stamps. single people should work 2 jobs to get what they need. as for the car if u cant afford it sell or down grade to something u can. ride the bus. BE GREEN. no need to be mean with people who are trying to help you. if u cant handle the truth about what is gunna... See More help you. than dont ask for help. i am married to a soldier. he has been home for almost 3 years and is still sometimes very distant. i think u need to stop thinking about yourself. you should be lucky u get help with what u do. back in the day the army could give a shit if you where married. they would say they didnt issue u a family. well maybe you should be supporting him. or maybe your husband changed while he was gone and just really want to move on with out you.

So very true, watching a child deal with being in a war has been one of the toughest things I have ever done as a mother. My son was in Desert Storm.

For some STUPID reason, there are some doctors who think the brain is disconnected from the rest of the body? Last I looked, the entire body was connected. DON'T GIVE UP TROOPS, YOU ARE NOT ALONE.!

Patty, thank-you for your words. Things are much better now that I can get proper help from non-military sources. Getting out of the Army was one of the best things that could have happened for me! I wish my experiences could have been better but until the Army does something to fix it's problems it's going to be bad for a lot of soldiers.
I was ... See Morein 101st at Ft. Campbell and I laughed when the post commander had a formal talk with the troops to not kill themselves. Ft. Campbell had the highest suicide rate in all of the army. For those who were never stationed with 101st they will never understand how different the rest of the Army is compared to this post. They have the highest suicide rate because nobody there cares one bit. All they care about is Air Assault. A General saying "don't kill yourself" is not going to do any good because when you go to your NCO's and tell them you need help you get mocked and shit on. Good luck to all our troops.

When i was in college i was majoring in Child Psychology. Thought that was what i wanted to do for the rest of my life. I kept hearing on the news how the military needs more therapists to help with this "P.T.S.D." disorder. I was immediately interested. That's what i wanted to b doing. I wanted to help those people. I have family in the millitary ... See Moreand have had great uncles suffer from this for years. The brain and why it reacts the way it does to certain things has always fasinated me, but not as much as these mental disorders that military people develope after war. I put a hault on my child psychology studies to enlist in the United States Army National Guard out of Wisconsin. I was trying to get the 68whiskey (mental health specialist) MOS, but t was only avaliable out of an infantry unit. Since I'm female i wasn't able to get the job. I leave for basic on Nov. 18, and once i finish my AIT training i'm getting back into school to major in PTSD. Once i finish with the schooling, i should be able to obtain a job in the military for this. I keep all of you enlisted and veterans in my prayers, for i will one day be in your shoes. There's only one life to live, so why not make it a well lived one!
Sincerely,
PVT Tutt

It's great to see the military taking such strides in improving issues with mental health. I can't wait to finish with grad school so that I can start working with veterans and their families. I want to be able to give something back after all they've given for us.

I have been fighting this P.T.S.D. since Vietnam in 1965 & have been fighting the V,A. for 5 yrs. and finally went outside the V.A. facility before I got any HELP.DO NOT count on the V.A to give you anything but pills & no therapy for this Problem. This is something that is TABU for anyone to think that you can get anything for this Problem.
