It's a special fixing for seat belt fixings. It's usually a 7/16" UNF fixing. On my 1985 mini the pillar had the nut welded in position - I just had to feel the hole in the cardboard trim then made a hole in the trim and the bolt screwed right in. It is the same fixing lower down for the buckle. I don't know the bolt lengths. Didnt the bolts come with the seat belts?

nope i got seats door cards and seat belts with the plastic covers but not with the bolts i would say it wont be long bolt anyway

Theres MINISONTHERUN in Banbury, who have a facebook group and meet once a month.

There were loads at Longbridge that weren't in Minis. You've got to balance comfort driving a distance and having a Mini there for the sake of it. Plus, in all honesty you'll be eyeballing other people's Minis so you'll still have loads of fun

Kevin, if you can find a copy of Keep Your Mini Alive 3 from 2002, there is a great step-by-step guide to the conversion. We've sold out now unfortunately but I'm sure someone will have a spare copy they can lend you.
