NJ WITHOLDS PREVIOUSLY DEDICATED FUNDING FOR THE ARTS! PLEASE go to the ArtPrideNJ web site to send your NJ elected officials in Trenton e-mails protesting protesting this freeze and witholding of already allocated and dedicated funds. I just took action on this important arts issue and I hope you'll take a moment to ...do the same. Please let Trenton know you want the funds released!
As an example, Tri-State Actors Theater in Sussex is waiting on the frozen grant of $13,000 that was already awarded from the New Jersey Council on the Arts. “We are in a dire financial condition” said Paul Meacham. “We’ve cut to the bone. The politicians, and the businesses in Sussex County need to step up and think about the arts,” said Meacham. The idea of cutting arts funding is like cutting off your nose to spite your face.”
