Mike Lysic Picked a whole paper shopping bag full(and I do mean FULL) of Shaggy Manes yesterday while I was out Squirrel hunting(got 4). Pretty good day in the woods. Sorry no pics of the shooms. Oh yeah, BTW last saturday I found a nice Giant Puffball and a large bag full of Honey Mushrooms. Now those were great in the stew I made, although I dried most of them.
Ray Zadrowski Could someone tell me what kind these are. I picked them off the side of a tree here in Houston Tx. I think they are some kind of chicken of the woods. Are they edible. I'm going to the book store this weekend to get a book on N.american wild mushrooms. Thanks.
Gregory Lengyel Just got back from picking shrooms got a bunch of sweet bread or hedge hog and some yellow honey have to clean them and cook them going to make a mushroom omelet
Gregory Lengyel I live in PA and to sell wild mushrooms here you have to be certified by the state. My nephew maneges a restaurant and he had people come in asking if they wanted to buy some yellow honey at $9 lb and hen of the woods at $12 lb they showed there certification maybe I should look in to it for all the mushrooms that I pick but I think you have to get a degree in it

Gregory Lengyel just got back picking shrooms going to be a long night cleaning all of these shrooms and I have to get up at 4:30 to go to work going to be dead tired tomorrow got two hen of the woods left 6 behind to many to clean and got a big bag of yellow honey and some brown honey mushrooms going to make a big omelet with them have to get cleaning
