The herb stevia is 250 times sweeter than sugar, but much healthier for you. Until misguided FDA intervention in 1991, it had been used safely as a sweetener for centuries. The good news is that it's finally being recognized once again for its many benefits — in baking and in health. ...

If you have Type II diabetes, it is a very good substitute for something sweet. No funny side effects that the other sweetners have and no adverse cumulative effects when using long term.

The audio for both the Oct 31st show and the Nov 7th show.

They came up now with a refresh, but there was also a couple images missing so I think it's safe to assume the directed path was offline or otherwise not available to the web server.

Are there plans to offer this as an RSS feed so listeners can podcatch it? It's not aired in my area (yet) so a podcast would be great.

I would love to know how to grow quinoa. We don't eat rice or wheat anymore but if we do eat grain, it's quinoa.

Check out the site below if you are really interested in growing Quinoa. You will need a rich well drained soil. I've never tried growing quinoa but after looking it up might try it. I know that when I started my vegetable garden the soil in my yard was all clay, so I built a box to make make a raised bed which helps with drainage. You may not ... Read Morebelieve this but the vegetables you grow have a way better taste than what you buy from the store. I used a lot of plant compost in my garden after I built the 10'x10 frame and cut pallets in half to make walkways. Fortunately in the city of Kettering they do provide free mulch and compost for their citizens all you do is pick it up. Check out the city in which you live to see if they do the same, it'll save you some$$$.

Cover crops — such as crimson clover, cereal grains and winter peas — planted in the fall can restore fertility to worn-out soil. They also prevent erosion, suppress weeds and loosen the soil, making it easier for spring planting roots to get a foothold. Im...

Many people who keep chickens or other poultry have concerns about how to manage their flock when cold weather sets in. But by following the expert tips in Keeping Chickens in Winter, winter won't be a problem for your flock, but rather a steppingstone to the following year!

One girl I know on Ravelry knits Chicken Sweaters! Seriously, she knits shawls for them too! Check it out. Nothing like a well dressed chicken in the winter. Lots of fresh straw bedding, a warming lamp and an insulated hen coop...pile straw bales around the outside bottom and cover the top with fiber matting, change the water several times a day if it freezes and you should not have problems. I give them warm water and it lasts for a few hours. A bit of work, but worth the eggs!
